Friend me, I have a photo album.
Main Projector I recommend using 6 or more LEDs. Image below.. ![]() Looking for the Turn Signal demon eye pic i have. I used 4 LEDs on that one and it was 2 bright I would use 2 or 3 LEDs. ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() I went with 4 RGB's in each. 4 leds in the turn signal halo are WAAAAY too much lol. (melt my paint bright) Also the amount of wiring that is required for the RGB leds is a lot higher than the regular LEDs. I should have moved one or two to the main projector. Since you're going with the RGBs, I take it you're either going to do your own soldering or have someone to do it for you. That was a PITA soldering those tiny resistors. I went ahead and color coded the wires for my RGBs to keep things straight when plugging it into the controller.

Good point, If he bought the 5mm RGB LEDs 12v w/Resistors that come pre-wired he is good, if not than yep it's PITA. The COB RGB (Halos, Angle Eyes, Orbs) come with 12v resistors already. The LEDs pop up on Ebay from time to time 12v with resistors.. Luck of the draw on what color they have.
Robs lights had 4 RGB LED's on his main projector and they weren't bright enough for that big lens. Osiris and I were talking about this Ultra Blue Devil Demon Eyes LED Strips Module for Projector Headlights Retrofit | eBay as a possible solution. It can be mounted closer to the main projection lens. The problem is the projector were you drill and mount the LEDs is almost 6 inches away from the lens. This little thing can slide under the housing just above the lens. Trying to do mine to see if it works good enough to recommend. .

I saw those on ijdmtoy and was wondering how those might work, honestly for $6 I didn't expect much from them. I'll be interested to hear your opinion of them

There's always the chance that I'm wrong but I would think thay the sun coming from the outside of the lens shining into it would not be refracted back outwards but to the inside of the lens (behind the lens).

I have had this problem on every dual halo setup I have done. One solution I am willing to try is using BBQ pit black paint which is meant for high temperatures. I will try this on my next project.

IDK about the caliper paint. I just sent my lights to the painter. He's going to tint the small flasher lens for me. Between that and using high quality automotive paint I'm hoping it will not be a problem on my lights.

Caliper Paint, been there done that.. Because of the high temps it with stands it creates a cooking effect under the paint. Bubbles the plastic underneath, if you have a lens conversion done. Also the finish is a little dull.
AutoTouchUp.com has 3 stage paint to color match your car or a color you like. Primer, Base, Clear Coat. Extremely durable. Also Krylon Paint is what most of us use. Another option is HyDro Dip any color design you want, from basic to wild. Also you can buy a airbrush Gun and us PPG, the best finishes. Need a clean space for it.

Ok.....
I tested out the led strips. This is 6 LEDs on the inside of the projectors reflective shroud. ![]() ![]() I'm just a little worried the 3m tape on the back won't stand up to the heat in there. So may add some adhesive to it |
