very smart, I usually have to shave the inside of the shroud very thin but not sure why I didnt think of this. I wonder if that voids the warranty anyway?

Update,
I was talking with LightWurks CEO trying to get them to have there supplier build a 90mm halo for us and sell in a kit or as a set. This new set would fit inside the shroud for a nice clean look just like the XB's. No luck, have not herd back from them.

So the only enclosed Halo sold today that fits inside that main projector shroud is from 180 Customs for $320.00 for 2 halo's.

I think I will stick with the XB's from RetroFitSource.com Morimoto xbALed Angel Eyes - Accessories from The Retrofit Source Inc Helps to have fair prices.

the morimoto xb isn't necessary an "older" model, its just an older model sold by retrofitsource. There is a local shop near my house that just started selling the "older" morimoto xB halos, but of course its not called "morimoto xB" but its the exact same product. If you guys are interested in purchasing those PM me for the name of the shop that sells them.

you sure about that? I always thought that the 70mm was too big and required trimming the housing, so I went ahead and tried 60mm. No need to trim the housing which I felt like was a huge plus. Here are the results:

The way you done it looks like you left some of the plastic blinker cover. I do not think the smaller will fit/fill the housing as well as the larger size. Mine fit flush with the housing so no need to trim the factory blinker cover and it looks way better than that. I would rather trim the housing for it to sit flush than stick out.

When I built the DIY I was going for a flush mount. Your 60mm looks really clean but being pushed out a 1/4 of an inch leaves a void between the g35 lens and the back of the Halo.

You have another way of doing it, congrats. Looks real clean, I likes the halo sitting flush but thats just me. It still looks great and way better that the stock look..

well, I've actually installed like 6-7 sets of headlights with the 70mm, that was my first attempt with the 60mm. I wanted to shave down the blinker cover more but as you guys know the base would also get bigger and the halo wouldnt fill it properly. I think it looks fine though, I have another set of headlights to do in couple weeks so I'll shave it down a little more and see whats the max before the halo starts looking too small

I was wondering how a 60 would look, props for trying it. My concern is how the wires are hidden. You can see them in the pics but how do they look from the front?

well since the halo is slightly smaller, there really isnt a place for the wires to FULLY hide. If you look for the wire, it'll be there on the bottom, but as long as you're not staring at the headlight looking for it you will not be able to see it

New set... XB's from RetroFitSource..

Customer wanted to keep the chrome and just darken up the shrouds.. Came out nice, had to re-open one light tho, I tried a new wire connection and it failed. I will always solder..

Finishing the splice on the last one!
I found tons of difficulty trying to get it open at first, but it gradually got easier. If you don't have an oven, you can use either a butane torch or a heat gun. I had the luxury of both, and honestly, I set my heat gun to 1000 and just held it there for roughly 2 seconds over every spot, and to compensate for the 3000 degrees on the torch, I just lightly did it over with the torch. Found the heat gun to take about 5-10 minutes, and maybe 15 on the torch.

I then sealed it over with flow-able silicone. It's looking really good so far, and all I have left is to splice the second ring in. I don't have a word on whether or not the silicone comes off with heat, but I'm hoping I don't have to find out!

Will post pics once finished, one light re-installed working as intended.

Edit: Wiring is very easy. Have no experience, still spliced in. No solder yet though, because I think I may wait until I can wire fog lights.

If I wanted to go with red halo's, what's the consensus on which ones to get?

I really want to try this! I'm going to attempt this over the winter with the help of my neighbor who owns a shop here in Chicago. Can't wait to see how this turns out on my 40th!

Putting a set of these in right now, they are red and use the same resistors as the XB's. They are white and resin sealed. When I get done tomorrow I'll post a pick of them.. I have had a set of COB's on my car for 2 years now with no issues. But I am switching to XB's (not in red).

You will want to wire them to a switch some were. Johny Law will give you a ticket driving around with red halos on.
