Question: inside the light is the green and black wire that turns on the little amber light. Has anyone connected their halos or LED to that? When does that come on?

All I have done is install new switches with leads. Also wired to parking light:Parking light uses a Blue, Black and Yellow wire at the plug.

I haven't done it but the blue is not a constant power the yellow is. I assume it would make it flash. So the answer to your question above is No..

Yes this is the parking light, I usually connect the halos to that. They turn on when you flip the light switch once or when your headlights come on.

Holy Crap,
I was looking for a new product to try out, want to find something new and I found Clearcorner.com... You may have seen these guys before, the work is top notch and has a complete factory look to it. I inquired about the price and my jaw fell of :supergay: .

LED's, resistors are not expensive, the labor involved in modding them isn't that bad. These guys want $2500.00 a set, they compared it to Whiskey and Champagne.. Hell I want Whiskey !!!! $650.00 for LED Map Lights, man I want to visit the planet these guys can from, reality here just sucks !!! 09-XX NISSAN Z34 370Z (Fairlady Z) Products

Amazing :shakes head: ...

Anyone find any new products or come up with a new look. I just found a bunch of new LED websites but haven't found anything better than the XB's yet..

Have a kick a$$ weekend :tiphat:

Sorry fellas, Admin helped me out and images should be back. I was messing around with the viewing permissions and locked my albums out from public view. It should be fixed.. :icon17:

I have had some issues with Mod Shops using the DIY and :shakes head: charging a lot of money for the mod's. I started this DIY so you would have to pay for something you can do easily on you own.

I sent you PM with a link to the album I used to make the DIY. When you finish yours lights , please show us what you did. Keep this DIY alive and updated with new ideas to share with everyone. :tiphat:

:shakes head: Stingy bastards have no business in this thread if they don't share there ideas !!!!!

Nut_N_Much 05-03-2013 08:01 AM

Update:

I am working with a company to get a supplier that sells the sealed halo's for our cars. If this works out, we could get a reduced cost and they would also be a forum sponsor.

We are looking for the same halo's that are supplied to another custom shop that fit flush in the shroud but are sealed. The look is clean and they don't have the yellow look when they are off like the XB's.

When I did Mr&Mrs lights I had to cut that kit open and reduce the halo to get it to fit. Thats lots of work and is not simple process. Will update you on progress of our halo project..

That's to all who have added to this DIY. There is a lot of good information here, keep it coming !

Its always awesome working on a car that has a killer owner. Makes the work worth wild. The dimple fill and double halo is my favorite. Simple mods are timeless like the single halo and painted shroud. They always look good..

I went through and (edited) updated the beginning of this thread. Everything should read more clear. I took out a lot of rambling, its more strait to the point.

Hello Nut_N_Much!

First off thank you very much for taking the time to write up on these DIYs  I'm sure everyone appreciates it at this forum~

I have a few questions to ask you as I'm a complete newbie when it comes to angel eyes/orb rings etc lol

I wanted to ask you if I'm painting my headlight housing and wanted to add the sexy Single Orb Rings, do I have to purchase the parts that you used?

1. G35 Clear Lenses size 2 5/8 – TRS (THERETROFITSOURCE.COM)
2. Halo 90mm from (THERETROFITSOURCE.COM)

I'm not too sure why you had to buy the G35 Clear lenses....would the Halo 90mm not fit the stock lights?

Also, wouldn't it be alot simpler if you just purchased the product at Nissan 370Z (2008+) Headlight LED ORB RING 5000K PURE WHITE halo angel eyes - LuceProdukt.com

Thank you for your time!

G35 lense is only if you want to do the turn signal at the top and you would also need the 70mm led ring for that. 90mm is just for the bottom.

Also that website is just charging you for one pair of led rings.

:iagree:

That pair they sell you will have a warranty and already has 12V resisters attached to it. Like VDC said, don't order the G35 lens, also order some sealant. I thinks its at the bottom of the accessories area. Last thing you want is moisture in your lights after there all closed up.

Guys will tell you that all you need to do is push the factory sealant back into the grove with a knife or something. It works, but not all the time, the money you spend on the sealant is worth it!!!

:tiphat:

VDC_OFF 05-17-2013 10:02 AM

I use the knife to push it back in right after taking apart so when I put it back together I can press it in easier. Then I use this as an added sealer. You can get it at an autoparts store.

Hi there, quick question.

I am finishing off my halos (thank you so much to everyone in this thread) and I wanted to confirm the wiring for the Lightwurkz kit.

I have two wires Tan (-) and White (+). On the parking light there are 3 wires black (ground), Blue and Yellow. How should I be connecting these? I feel the answer is simple but many fumes and lack of sleep have given me a mental block.

I thought yellow (+) and black (-)

Thanks so much

Yes,
Yellow is the constant power on the parking light wiring. I have used it on most of the lights I have built. Black is the negative.
I PM'd you, also attached my cell number if you need any help!

I would test you LightWurkz wires on the battery to make sure (+) & (-) are correct. My kit White was (+), but check it anyway! You don't want to put them back together and not have them work.

How: I do it is I take a lighter and soften up the wire covering, then with some needle nose pliers or something like that I pull enough rubber off to allow you to solder. All you need is to expose enough wire to solder your lightwurz wires to. When your done soldering wrap them up with some electrical tape.

Hopefulki 05-20-2013 10:29 AM

So, I don't have great photos yet (at work), but I finished installing them this morning!

Thanks to everyone in this thread, especially Nut N Much for his 1 on 1 help.

The car needs a desperate wash after all of that, and a headlight polish (PlasticX in the mail), but I am very happy with how it turned out.

Opening the first light was terrifying and I deformed some plastic, but nothing some butyl + silicone wouldn't fix. :P

Car is now fully black and red! (pics to come)

They look great man!!! Good job.. I have been looking for the 70 & 90mm halos in Red. I didn't know LightWurks had them. A friend who is deployed wanted a set on his lights. Thanks for sharing, that red look really good. I just wish LightWurks would get there Shitz together and get a supplier that makes the so they fit inside the shroud.

:leghump:

Hopefulki 05-20-2013 08:32 PM

I don't think Lightwurkz had advertised them yet. I sent them an email asking and they said it's their newest product (about a month ago) and that I purchased the first RGB 70/90 set. It was $299 which I thought was pretty good all things considered.

Yeah, they are RGB so I can set them to red/yellow/green/blue/cyan/pink/white/orange and a horrible epilepsy inducing quick cycle between all colors.

I am happy with them for sure, today it poured hard and no humidity got in, so passed that test quickly! lol

I took some pics at night but god my Galaxy's camera does poor at low light, so it doesn't do them justice. I took more pics, but I'll just add them to my own album.

The kit also allows them to lock on white with 1 button press inside, good when police are around and you're riding the red. It was easy to run the control box wire inside too, there was a grommet on the driver side under the brake booster. I just popped it out and ran it through there. The carpet actually had a spot in it nearby where it was easy to cut. I didn't replace the grommet so I'll just silicone it tomorrow to seal it, though no rain got in today - better safe than sorry.

I do wish they sat inside the shroud - that would make it perfect - but overall I'd recommend the kit for sure.

paperboy42190 05-22-2013 05:11 PM

has anyone tried 60mm for the turn signal halo? 70mm works fine, but always requires trimming the housing.

SR370z 05-22-2013 08:03 PM

You should post up a video so people who are not used to working on it can see how things work. I myself still doesn't have the confidence on working on my own headlights and does not want to spend over 500 dollars on something I might be able to do myself. A video of this would be AMAZING! :D I know Dallaz has a video but I wanna see how the great Nut N Much does it!

60mm is to small, the Halo's wont match up with the trimmed shroud. I when you center it you will have an exposed lip behind the halo.

Thanks brother,
Chptr11 is coming over tomorrow, we will make a video of the hole process. His will be a single halo but I can talk to the turn signal modification. I especially want to show the wiring. Hopefully someone will send me some lights so I can do the full conversion.

The job would be a snap if it weren't for the whole "get the headlights open without melting/chipping" thing.

Bob came buy today and we got his lights knocked out. He has a 2013 Magma colored 370Z. He chose to go with a single halo and nothing else. Very simple and timeless look. Bob's a good dude, he got right to work and helped out with everything. I still can't do any heavy work so it was nice to have the help.

I tried using my new video app but it didn't work. Really disappointed about that, so I had to break it all up into a bunch of small videos. I should have a good video of the hole process tomorrow.

Her are some pictures of his lights, they came out really nice. That Automotive Touch Up paint take awhile to get on. I rough it up, then use a sand-able primer coat. After that I sand out imperfections and lay the base coat. Once dry I hit it with the clear coat. Depending on how many coats of clear you use it can take a wile to dry. Reassemble to soon and the tacky clear-coat can be ruined.

I used the magic box again... Enjoy, will post the videos tomorrow.

Looks great!

I just swapped my parking lights to LEDs as per Nut N Much's suggestion, they look great too.

I tried swapping the turn signal bulb too but the LED "bulb" i used was too long.

Is there anyone that has the dual projectors that can recommend a bulb that will fit there? The stock one fits obviously XD but:

LUMEN® PL7443CW - PlaZma Series Front Turn Signal Replacement LED Bulb (7443 / 7444, White)

Those did not fit, was hitting the back of the projector lens sadly :(

I'll keep them for Tail lights for when I want to go through the hell of removing the whole back end -.-

Thanks a ton!

*EDIT*: not quite the place for it, but it will help whoever is doing halos and wants to clean up their lenses. I used 3M's Restoration Kit, then after the 3000 disc, I used the polishing disc WITH PlasticX, came out like factory. I was blown away, my left lens was pretty bad. That combo is hard to beat, at least imo
