Finished mine today. Noticed that my turn signals are going super fast now, some people say it is because the resistance on the new turn signal LEDs is lower than OEM.
Does any one have a link to turn signal LED bulbs that are low profile and same resistance as OEM? https://i.imgur.com/Uk3J6po.jpg |
Looks great man!
as far as low profile hereare the ones i purchased as I ran into the same issue. Your not gonna find a halogen that matches the color so your going to need to wire in a set of resistors with the led bulbs to stop the hyper flash. Bottom line is with all the work you've already done, wiring in the resistors will be a walk in the park.:D:D low profile turn signals: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 resistors: if you google a 50w 60ohm resistor you will find tons. That's what i have used and they work, im sure there are other options out there. |
Ended using load resistors as suggested. I just really didn't want to take that bumper off again, but luckily I was able to do it without taking it off. It's working great now.
Also here is the full album of pictures I took during the whole project, for anyone interested. Several pictures included: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BMJ6N92uL4G4APcu6 |

Either way the headlight themselves are functioning grate, minus the morimoto demon eyes. I either missed the opening in the housing just by a few mm or the opening does not let enough light through. If anyone wired a switch to manually turn them on or off via switch inside the cabin, let me know how and where you ran the +/- line to whereever inside the cabin. |
Loving the diode dynamics halos, very bright! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fa0c84d5ac.jpg

Quick question guys, is it okay to tap the Z-boomerang into the headlight leveler? for it to act as a DRl?

Ya, I'm not sure what they are getting at either now... wiring or mounting? Either way, the things don't light up, they reflect; unless you buy the replacment led models. I wouldn't worry about it, I just painted mine gold(ish) with a bit of mica.

Now that is the zoomerangs/boomerangs swapped out with led versions. Not bad; there are switch back versions too.
Though i still don't get what is ment by connecting them to the levelers unless the Z has mechanical levelers in the newer models, because im pretty sure the earlier models don't have them, at least I don't remember mine with them. |
Yes, the zoomerangs and halos are all switchback. I'm not sure either about the leveler.

Where did you guys put all the drivers/modules? What would be your approach to protect them from water?

Same here. Have the same intake so taped the drivers together on each side and zipped them up and out of the way to the main bracket.

OK noob question here... I apologize if it was already answered.
The halo does not replace the headlight, correct? From my understanding it acts as a DRL and is wired similarly to the stock DRLs? I'm assuming there are muliple ways of wiring the halo. |
Trawled this thread and can't seem to find the answer to this question, I perhaps missed it.
How are the projector lens' fixed to the turn signal enclosure after cutting off the front bit of the turn signal? from the pictures I gather its held on from the rear of the enclosure. Is that correct? And then possibly glued down from the rear? |

It doesn't/wouldn't replace the HID headlights. No There would be multiple ways of wiring the halos from my understanding. You could wire them to act as DRL's to turn on on ignition or you could wire them to turn on with your park lights or you could wire them to turn on with your headlights. |
