very nice job. The only way to really test it is to block off one of the hoses and take temps of both sides after a track session.

I accidentally ordered a 3" hose and I am having a little bit of trouble routing it, but I'm challenging myself to make it work. It's frustrating but I'm trying to take my time, the car is still on the jack. Worst case for the areas which don't fit, I'll have to make more custom parts.... =/ Which will add extra weight and parts....not to mention money and time.

Thansk for the great tip. I will definitely try that! How come I didn't think of it.

My mind was thinking of going the long stupid way of unbolting the whole thing to take temperature differences.

Funny I can come up with complicated stuff but can't think of an easy solution. I'll see what I can provide you guys after track. It'll be interesting as I'm going to Laguna Seca, I heard it's hard on the brakes.

Smile More pictures...

Disassembling the brake calipers...

Take the brake shield off for measurement....be really careful here because a 3" diameter hose flange gets really close to the Sensor. So do fit check before cutting...

Start Dremeling away....

File down the sharp edges....

Then trace & transfer the lines & rivoting thru holes to the other brake dust shield...

Rivot it down....

Spray Paint it flat black....

Mount it back on....

Curious to see if it works... good luck.

I was basing my 2.5" assumption off your drawings... I suppose that explains the "accidentally".

Yea, I did some research online for track cars brake ducts to see what kind of brake duct flanges were available and I stumbled upon 3" brake duct flanges so I designed the front adapters to work with a 3" diameter hose.

It wasn 't until I started routing it and looked at other people who have done this kit uses a 2.5" or smaller. I already spent the money, I might as well try to make it work.

Try to think back, I was also trying to maximize the coverage of the front duct, I didn't like how the Stillen kit shows the 2 circles from the front bumper.

scruffy- i like the fact that you used rivots on the hose coupler on the brake rotor cover side.

it's a slick system.

Thanks! I actually did it on the other side first and I had to redo it because it stuck out too much.

any water is only going to splash on the rotors, like going through a puddle. Not like its going into the engine.

I dont drive mine on the street and don't track in the rain anymore, so its a non issue for me, but I still don't think its a problem. Unless you are parking it long enough to breed mosquitos.

Doesn't happen. I had ducts on my daily-driven S for 7 years.
