I just got done changing out my illuminated kick plates with non illuminated ones. That process took about 10 minutes for both. It ended up being a lot easier than I thought it would be. Now all I have to do is sell my illuminated kick plates to offset the cost of the other ones I bought.

I'm getting ready to install my illuminated kick panels as well... but I just had one quick question for those that have already installed them.

Did anyone disconnect their battery prior to installation as noted in the instructions? I really don't want to because of all the ecu resets that go along with disconnecting and re-connecting the battery. Let me know

Thanks guys!

Don't worry about disconnecting the battery. Just don't attempt to turn the car on until you've connected the jumper harness. No worries

ejrives, thanks for the DIY.

I just used it along with the Nissan instructions and it really makes it easier to install the kick plates. It took me about 2 hours because of the damn hangover I had! = )

Does any one have trouble with the cover to the kickplates going back on? Mine really don't sit right like the way they were from the factory

Need to see which part/section you're talking about. It may be an issue where the corner kick panels aren't in all the way. May be pushing the whole assembly backwards.

I have seen mine pop up on the farthest right of this picture (towards the latch of the door right by the seat handle)

Just did mine.

Took about 1 hour and 25 mins. Hardest part removing the harness from the BCM. I used my rifle cleaning rod taped to the wire for the drivers side to run it through the center console. Really simple process all in all. I'm thinking about buying the harness and fog light assembly from the Z store and tackling that DIY.

Just bought some LED's for some interior mood lighting at the footwells... think I could just take that one panel off right above the illuminated plate and tap into the red and white wires? Would I have to disconnect the battery to do this?

Just looked to see what you called it... the "inner trim piece" is the one i'm wondering if i could just remove to tap into those wires.

My base model 2011 370Z came with illuminated panels already.

Is this something that is standard on 2011, but not earlier years?
