You have to trim the upper piece a little in the same spot you trimmed the lower black piece (the circular part)but don't worry about the boot being unsupported when it is installed it is up against the shifter housing you have been cutting on.

Plus you have to trim around the black square where the hazard switch goes.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep both of those in tact since the other hazard button is going to be used for something else down the road when I want something added I can turn on/off.

The black square is intact you just trim around the outside of it,as far as the upper leather piece put the black piece in the install the upper leather piece without the boot installed and you will see where the interference is (the circular part)

I was wondering if knobs like this would work... How will it fasten to the shifter? Hex bolts?

:inoutroflpuke:

It is really simple disassemble the new boot (3 pieces black plastic lower piece, the boot, upper leather piece),check and trim for the lower black piece to fit first, once it fits leave it installed then install upper leather piece trim and fit as necessary when this piece fits like normal then reassemble all 3 pieces and it should fit.

You are almost there just get your dremel to clean up some small spots and you are there.

The hardest area to fit is the left switch are around the white box area.

Leave it be for tonight and you will come back to it tomorrow and you will see what the problem is,some times you have to walk away to see what has to be done.
