AC Hydraulics Jack Review

I recently purchased an AC Hydraulic DK13HLQ. It's a low profile jack with a high reach of nearly 30". It arrived today so I raised up the rear of my car and snapped a few pictures.

I purchased it from acjacks.com and they said it was their last one. It arrived packed very nicely with all small parts bagged and tucked off to the side. Setup was easy, but I do have a couple pointers.

1. When screwing in the handle locking screw be sure to line up the screw to the L-shaped hole in the shaft. The screw should go in VERY easily. I have a silver O mark on the side of the handle now because I torqued it into the side of the shaft. Oops.

2. The front wheel locking collars need to be stretched out a bit. I used a couple wrenches to give me an additional ~1 mm of space. I then used a needle nose plier to slip them on. It was a pain.

3. The default drop rate is fairly aggressive. There is a screw near the base of the handle under the top cover that you rotate CCW to slow it down. I went half a turn from stock, and I may go more. To lower the jack you lift the handle out from the base and turn it CCW. Just do it slowly!!

My setup came with the extension handle and the rubber pad. I didn't install the extension yet, but when I got the rear tires 8" off the ground (including droop) it became moderately difficult to raise the car. The pad needs a little WD40 to get into the metal base, but after you raise the car once it's in for good.

This weekend I'll take a stab at raising the front of the car from the center of the front suspension crossmember. I'll still need a slim starter ramp, but that's mostly because the Nismo splitter is just so danged long.

So far I really like it. The movement is smooth, the unit is stout & level, and the whole unit feels well constructed. I also fully recommend acjacks.com as a seller. They were pleasant to work with and shipped out the unit quickly.

Around $500. I'd contact acjacks.com for final pricing. The jack is made in Denmark and imported in batches. The pricing varies along the USD to Euro exchange.

nismo and sweet $500 jack = balla

lol jk looks nice dude.. wish I had one.. I use the pathetic trunk jack because its the only jack that fits under my car that doesnt cost $500.

Hah. Let's not take the thread in that direction. Actually I had purchased a cheaper low profile jack off of Amazon last week and it was garbage. I said f it and bought the Cadillac of jacks.

was going to get that jack long time ago but realized the handle would be too long if i wanted to jack up the car from the side in my 2car garage (with another car hibernating in the winter time). so got a US General jack with the detachable handle at mid-length. actually i have 2 low profile hydraulics since they were so much cheaper.
