Just did the mod! Thanks OP.
Eihtball99 is right - there's lots of screws when you take the shift bezel off. Can't mess it up, though. I took off more than I needed to, but it was no big deal. A tough part for me was taking the old button out of its housing with the clips on the side. Looks better in person than it does in pictures. And do others notice a nicer button feeling? Like.. it feels like a real button now. Launch warheads kind of button.  p.s. - use an old t-shirt to put on your flathead screwdriver head as you pry up the shift bezel. No worries that way.
