DIY:REAR Fog Light install with New harness for US spec 370Z + Radar hardwire w/pics

I wired my system up to give me three options. Always off, always on, or flash with reverse and light with brakes. As such I used a three way switch

Mine is mounted in the center console where the dummy switches are. I got the switch I needed from a source that M.J. found. Here's his DIY post that shows the switches and mounting.

Switch Panel on console

The website he lists has the switches in a lot of different forms. Two way on/off. Two way momentary. Three way on/off, etc. Just pick the one you need. Also for reference here is my DIY which shows how I wired my light.

CBRich I've read your thread and learned a lot from it. Personally, I don't like the look of the rocker switch when it is placed between the touring heated seat OEM switches. But I am following your wiring ideas closely. I still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do switch-wise, but your information has been helpful!

Glad it helped. I agree that those switches don't quite match the OEM heated switches. I would definitely want to go with the OEM style switch if I had a touring model. Unfortunately it's just an on/off switch which limits your options.

I've decided to use a heated seat switch to activate my EVO-R LED light (the solid on function...I have the flash function tied in with the reverse lights, DIY here).

Anybody know how I might should wire this switch so the "low" on activate the light? (I might use the "high" side of the switch for something else).

Sorry for the double post! I ended up using an extra hazard switch for my fog light. I think I figured out the wiring for the heated switch if someone wanted to use that (with the help of some of the guys over in the Audio part of the forum).

Has any one tried just drilling a large hole in the face of the dummy light to get access to the other side of the bolt?

You don't need to. All you have to do is cut a slit in the end of the bolt so you can hold it with a flat head while you wrench the nut off.

Just ordered the rear fog light from thezstore.com...The only function I want the light to serve is another brake light. If I were to just tap the appropriate color wire in the tail, I should be good to go right?

Also, does the turn signal for that tail light run off a seperate hot wire? because I do not want the light to flash when I put turn signal on obv.

Tap into a brake light power wire and your'e set. The brake lights do not flash as turn signals. The turn signals are separate lights (and thus wires) on the 370Z.

Thanks for confirmation ^^^^^^

Got the rear fog installed tonight...those two spinning nuts caused me a huge headache, but with some applied heat...came spinning right off. I went with the option to just tie it into the brake light (green wire) and im very satisfied with the look.

Attached some quick crappy pictures I was able to get tonight.
