Cleaning NOT polishing chrome.

I have initially cleaned the mufflers with Windex (very popular) and seems to have done the job.

Should I just continue with Windex until its time for a Polish? or add the Mothers into my cleaning routine?

Anyoen used this product?

I was planning to use my jug of Malco Showroom Shine. Maybe not a good idea? :-)

The cans on the FI are stainless steel. I use a wheel cleaner to clean them. Then i go over with Flitz cleaner and polish. I do the is thing with polish aluminum.

Ok, so just really polished SS that looks chrome. Did not know that. Thanks.

In that case, I'll continue to use Windex until the time to polish. A million types of polishes out there.

It says wax, so not sure if I'd want it on a hot component. Hopefully it just burns off, but it may run and discolour?

I’m not going to use it. I’ll use ammonia free Windex and ordered some of the Flitz.

I like the fact that the Flitz is Abrasive free but worry about the chemical content. If you've used it without worry, then I guess it's mild.

I was worried about the Meguires, becuase I thought its one of those awful smelling, acidic, brake dust cleaner that turns colors. It staes its acid free.

Meguires will turn brake dust purple. It washes off easy.

If you want a really deep clean. Mirror X. It's what the truckers use on their aluminum dumps, and trailers. I used it on the rims on my Power Wagon.
