I paid 49 400 for gun metallic, auto matic, navi and sport package with anti rust protection. (After tax and freight)

Also got free BBQ unit (200 value) and 5 free oil changes from dealer.
Pleased for you, although I would have had them apply the rust protection to the BBQ grill and not the car.

Z & winter? = go shopping for another car.

I picked my Z up in March, and snuck it home at 70km/h on the highway... Once i got into residential I had to reverse my car several times and take multiple attempts at proceeding in a forwards direction. The tires on my car were brand new with zero miles, so plenty of tread. Granted not winter tires, but I don't think I would count on winter tires making this a snow mobile. My Z roams the streets from April to October and thats it. HIbernation after that.

Good choice Kira! Hope to see you soon in the next meet/cruise

PS. Watch out for the mod bug, I hear it's contagious

I live in London, Ontario (snow belt) and have driven my Z the past two winters without a backup and have never had a problem. Get good winter tires, drive smart, and you will be fine.

Could you tell me which winter tires you would recommend? I'll refer back to this topic when winter gets closer.

My current plan for the winter is basically subway. I live uptown Toronto and work Downtown..Add in some snow and it'll take 2 hours to commute. Might as well subway.

Another question I would like to ask is:

What do you guys do to maintain your Z? Things that a beginner like me could learn or just do right away. Like wiping the engine clean perhaps with a damp cloth...Vacuum the car...Check tires, etc.

This is basically my very first car that I will be owning, so forgive my ignorant question.

I have driven my nismo (lower body clearance i think) all year round for 2 years. 18" winter tires and rims. I drove with summer tires the winter before last year. Kinda fun. Just drive carefully and dont get stuck in snow piles and you will be ok. But hate to see the chassis got rusty.

minimal maintenance for the first little while. do a lot of research. this forum is the best tool we have.

100% get bumper and full hood clear bra ASAP. I cannot stress this enough specially because you will drive during the winter too.

opticoat is good too. research that and contact GaleForce from here if you want it done.

all these are prevention. you will be spending around 1k but trust me its worth it.

as for the tires, I run 18" wheels with 235 wide tires. you will need really wide spacers specially for the rears if you don't want it to look weird.

What's bumper and full hood clear bra? All I'm thinking about is a giant womens bra strapped to my car lol (I'm still new to cars and mods and stuff T_T)

It's a polyurethane paint protection film. Google "clear bra". Common brands are Scotchgard, VenturShield, Xpel. They're applied professionally, will probably cost about $1000 US equiv. I had it applied on my 2014 Z for the first time, it's great. Bugs just wipe off with just a little waterless wash or Plexus. Great stuff, worth the money to me. I don't feel the need for full hood treatment. Lower third is where the action is.

Yup, I've being doing that with the last Z also.

Picked up 350z from a guy who jumped in too quickly and couldn't afford it. Got it at an awesome price, sold it to another kid who wanted to jump into it. I made some profit from it and bought a 370z the same way.

Now, I'm just waiting for the next Z to come out and do it again.

I bought my car and I plan to drive it in the winter as long as it doesn't snow too heavy.

I'm afraid the winter tires will cost an arm and a leg though. I'll worry about that in October.

Working downtown has the benefit of being able to subway or drive Employee parking
