I'm worried about the downward force it applies. I have a feeling that may strip threads.

i use an impact wrench with air line. never had any problems with scuffing the rim ...

Impact tools are ment for cars make sure u torque it properly and be careful not to slip up lol. But that can happen even going old school methods.

On another note:
Anyone going to the car show this weekend?
