does anyone know how to keep the doors from sticking to the moulding or the windows from freezing shut when the car is parked in the cold outside?

go to canadian tire and buy some Silicone Lube and spray it on and wipe the run off, off. That will stop it from sticking

Yea it's gotten all the way down to zero here so the Z is in the garage while they sprinkle salt on the road. I don't need to drive it so I'm holding out till it gets up above zero and we get a good rain to flush all the salt off the roads....

the plug runs down the right side of the engine compartment and is attached by the plug cover to the grill of the front bumper by the left fang.

How do you access to the block heater plug? Do you have to take off the driver side grill cover? And how to take that cover off?

I guess some people don't have a choice but to drive their only car (a Z) all year round. In that case, they should invest in good snow tires and a towing service.

lol we all got block heaters on our cars up here in the great white north. The factory ones only heat the oil not the coolant. Only see that done on the big desel trucks.

Uhh... NO. Block heaters for light duty cars and trucks in Canada (and the USA for that matter) sit in coolant. Not oil.

the block heater has a long cord with a 3 prong plug at the end that sticks out from the grill from the bumper. You dont have to take anything off, just plug in a extention cord to the plug and then plug it in a socket. In the picture below you can barely see the plug, its attached to one of the blades of the grill

Somehow mine is right behind the driver side intake.

I guess I could run it down to the bumper grill.

well i ran mine on the driver intake as well....looked ugly sticking out the bumper.
