Default BC Racing vs Stance GR+

Hello all I was looking to buy some some springs and shocks but I see I can get coilover for about the same. I was looking at these two brands I have read up a lil bit on them but I wanted to see what people thought about the brands..

Found BC for $998 and Stance for $1,134

The BC Racings have 30 damping level while Stance GR+ have 15. Does this even matter?

How much stiffer is the ride quality over springs as this would be my first set of coilovers on any car?

I dont wanna lower the car to an extreme I like both Form and Function.

One last question do these coilovers when you adjusting them does the manufacture thread the actual shock body, so you are expanding or compressing the actual length of the shock that the coilover is a part of. Or do they literally need to turn a spring perch to compress the spring against the top hat, which lowers the vehicle?

So if anyone could tell me their thoughts and/or suggestions it would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

I would also be getting Sways and SPC F/R Camber Kit.

I have the stance. I chose it mainly because it was an affordable true-type coilover setup in the rear, as opposed to the oem type. This allowed my to scrap the oem spring perch and replace with spl.

I can only say good things. The quality was outstanding. They were also REALLY responsive. I didn't initially find the adjustment wrenches in the boxes, and when I called they shipped a new set out THAT DAY. Afterwards I found that they were actually in the box (in one of the plastic bags with one of the coilovers) and returned them, but it was a nice experience with their customer service.

My car is an occasional DD (probably 2 days a week or so), and track car. It's still comfortable enough to drive around, but I had stiffer springs before the stance, so I may be a bit jaded.

As for the 15 vs 30 way: what's the difference really? WHat will 30 options give you that 15 wont, except some additional level of adjustment that you probably couldnt even feel? I'm not a professional or anything, so maybe I'm just not sensitive enough, but I doubt most of us are.

And as for the height adjustment: its a threaded body. The only reason to adjust the perch is for preload.

I haven't had any firsthand experience with the BC, but I have heard a few complaints about rattles/squeaks and what not. That may have been an earlier revision, or just poor installation, etc. I think there are some posts in here if you dig around a bit.

Anyhoo, there's this guy's experience. Hope it helps

Stance true type FTW. Great for our cars cause they have higher spring rates. Being our car is heavy. I've had mine for two years with about 800 track miles and they are great.

I just put the Stance coilovers, rear camber and toe arms on over the weekend so haven't really had any drive time with them yet, but have already noticed that you definitely feel more of the road when driving. I put the over drop around 1-1/2" and don't think that I would want to go any lower. I can get into my driveway and around the city without any major problems so far.

I didn't pick up the front camber arms, but they were still adjusted to near stock settings even without.

I haven't started messing with the adjustments on the coilovers yet. I only adjusted the height to even them out at all 4 corners.

I'm probably not much help, but will report back in a month or so.

Keep in mind if you go with BC BR series, you can go with the G37 setup and they have stiffer springs.

I believe you also have an option for a shorter or taller rear spring.

the BR's are OEM "style" but should still go pretty damn low.

I do not personally have the BC Racing BR series coilovers on my Z but I do sell a lot whole lot of them. You can't beat them for the price at all. For the 370Z you can request a true coilover setup in the rear for no additional cost. Also for all applications you can choose your own spring rates for no extra cost. Even can upgrade to swift springs for a little bit extra.

BC also makes an extreme low kit, also no extra cost, but it really is not needed. Customers with standard BR kits send me pics with only 3 fingers between the bumper and the ground.

BC BR coils at 8k miles no complaints. Great quality to me but I haven't tried any other so I guess I'd be bias. Setting is pretty low, low enough to scrape my freakin FI;( i don't really mess with the dampening deal. My tech set the settings I drove it a bit asked for a more stock feel he set it again and I'm good. I went with BC because I knew I would never track him. Strictly for street. Looks like you can't go wrong either way.

Sub'd for info as well. I'm debating between these 2 brands but I definitely would like to have the true type for the rear. Like is one easier to adjust ride height than the other? Which one performs better? Is there any difference in ride quality?

Sorry for all the questions, I just wanted to make sure I purchase the right one. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Well, true type you only have to adjust one per corner. I would imagine with the oem type, you would have to adjust the body, and then the spring perch, yes?
