Default Raising Suspension back

Hello to everyone,
This is my first post here....I just bought a preowned 2009 Nissan 370Z with sports package. The previous owner has lowered the suspension so that the ground clearance is ~ 3". Although it looks good but I have a hard time in city driving, especially on bumps/ditches/side streets. Sometimes it would literally hit my car. So I was wondering how can I raise the suspension, and how much should I raise it?

I went to the dealership and they are asking ~$3000 for it?????? Thats really not the kinda money I had in mind...

Please help.

Regards,
AD

I'm guessing you don't have coilovers being that they quoted you that price. Probably priced you out for all new suspension components. You may want to see if you can buy a set of stock shocks and springs.

best bet is take it to a good shop, maybe some of the houston guys can recommend something. they should help you locate maybe a nismo spring/strut package and install em. heck maybe you just need springs.

Lol $3k. I hate dealerships. Why?

You can get coilovers, sways and camber arms for that much.

Get some stock springs and some aftermarket shocks and have them installed. I have a set of stock springs for sale if interested.

The problem is that a shop will charge you around $500 for the labor alone....

Thank you all. So I looked at my car suspension and I can see that rear shock is KW 860 1101. I am guessing that I have coilovers. I have to find out somehow which version of KW do I have exactly...can't really see the front struts/springs very well..

So given that I have coil-overs (I will post as soon as I confirm this), what all do I need to get done: height adjustment --> then corner weighing --> then wheel alignment?

Should I schedule a service for these three things? Are all needed or can I skip something?

Regards,

Regards,
If you have KW the only thing they make for our car is coil-overs, and with that being said it is just an allen key to adjust them, you need to jack/lift the car pull the wheels off and adjust each one to match, if you do 5 full rotations up on one side then the other should apply along with front and rear then drive a bit and adjust to your liking, and then corner balance, and alignment.

Im not sure what size the allen key is i think it is a 1.5mm but maybe someone can correct me on that.

Give Baker Tuning (Baker Nissan) a call and ask for Paul Morgan. Tell him what you want to do and what is already done to the car, he should be able to get you setup with something better than 3k. Really it should be about 1 hour of work to just adjust all four corners and then have you drive it for a week and come back for an alignment.
