It's true, rotors are far more effective when they're attached to the wheel hub. From what you've given us, these look like spinners... and are about as functional.

Chris Forsberg has them on his 370z you can check it out here http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/11/...g-nissan-370z/

Obviously you need rotor caps and brake calipers but I was wondering if it's ok for street use

They are not vented so No, I would not recommend them. They are for racing purposes only. Mainly drifting, which requires the least amount of brakes.

Your life isn't on the line with aftermarket headers.A lot of guys are running Z1 2 piece rotors.

That type of rotor design is for short duration events like drifting, autox, drag racing, etc. where weight savings is the most important issue. They'll work great for a real short period but there isn't enough mass to absorb the heat produced from extended braking.

Waste of money for street car, in addition to what Gomer said

Tires stop the car, if you're running some crappy tire , upgraded brakes won't do ****

Would like to add to Gomer’s and Spooler’s reply.

It’s around the same diameter as OEM base rear, but the thickness is reduced by almost half (I guess because the lack of ventilation vanes). That’s a whole lot of missing metal, therefore lower heat capacity. That’s why it is setup for events with short braking duration.

Can you do it? Sure, just like people driving with bald tires or negative 10 degrees of camber. But, I wouldn’t.

And if you ever get into an accident, and the product manufacturer specifically stated this not to be used on the street, and this thread shows you’ve been warned of the reduced heat capacity, you will lose a whole lot more than weight.

By the time you get 4 rotors, 4 hats, 4 calipers, hoses, pads. You will have over $2000 in a brake system that is only good for drag racing. On the street. They WILL over heat. If I was going to spend that kind of money on brakes, add some more and get either AP Radials or Brembo's. Or if you want to use the 'bono calipers. Get a set of RacingBrake 2 piece rotors.
