G-Loc brake pads - track use

Hey everyone - G-Loc seems a bit newer to the market from what I've heard (could be wrong). Have any track guys given these pads a try yet? Right now

Default G-Loc brake pads - track use

Hey everyone - G-Loc seems a bit newer to the market from what I've heard (could be wrong). Have any track guys given these pads a try yet? Right now I'm using the tried and true Carbotech XP10/8 combo, but after the last 100 degree track day I did the front XP10s have damn near disintegrated. Thankfully they did not overheat, but I will definitely need, at the least, new front pads soon. Just curious if anyone has any experience with them yet... Thanks,

PharmDZ

From what I've read, the guys that started G-Loc are members of the same family behind Carbotech. I think there was some in-fighting of something and the G-Loc guys split off and started their own company. fwiw I've never used G-Loc pads myself.

I have heard that as well Gomer - and that the G-Loc numbers correlate somewhat with the Carbotech numbers (XP10 being the G-Loc R10). I know the SCCA throws us a 10% discount on G-Loc now so if they're cheaper than the corresponding Carbotechs... hell, why not.

I've heard the same.

I've had one track day with R10/R8 GLOC pads and found they held up really well. Brake temps for me get to around 800F. I

Now my next question is... I have XP8 rear pads which have a decent amount of life left. My XP10 fronts are done after my next track day. Any issue with going to a R12/XP12 front pad while keeping the XP8 rear for the time being? Plan is to maybe upgrade to XP10/R10 in the rear. Would it be too much front bias then?

I don't think so, I switched to 12/10 just to see what if any difference I could tell, I couldn't tell any, but a better driver may. I did notice their website now redirects to a Asian lottery sight.
