Im going to be replacing my pads soon and was looking for any suggestions or recommendations. My Z is a daily but also does see some occasional track time and

Default Brake Pad Suggestions

Im going to be replacing my pads soon and was looking for any suggestions or recommendations. My Z is a daily but also does see some occasional track time and spirited mountain runs. I appreciate any input. Thanks guys.

Stock pads are fine for everything but track driving.
- They'll be "okay" for Autocross.
- They will fail on a road course.

Also, any spirited driving NEEDS to be accompanied by upgraded brake fluid...Motul RBF600.

Ive already got the fluid ready just needed some suggestions on pads, it will be seeing alot more track time this year which is why i was asking for any recommendations.

Buy a set of OEM and a set of track pads. XP10 and XP8 combo works well for many.

I use Project Mu HC800's for daily and track, and have never had any issues.

I've used EBC Yellowstuff pads for both DD and trackday. Once your skill level goes up at the track. You will need track pads then.

Like the others have said carbotech xp10 and xp8's are a good setup although a little aggressive for on the street. You might want to look at Ferodo DS2500's. They aren't as bitey as the carbotechs but still provide better braking than regular street pads.

I have Carbotech XP8's all the way around. If you don't mind the brake dust, I love them on the street.

I run the Carbotech XP10/8 setup daily in all weather right now. The dust is pretty bad, and the noise can get loud, but damn do they stop when you need it. The only time I feel they can't do well from dead cold is when im trying to do a full on threshold stop. But they heat up in a couple turns.

The Hawk HP+ is one of the go-to pads for autocross, but will overheat quickly on a road course. Also, they can be louder than the Carbotech's and their dust is corrosive, unlike Carbotech.

I will be going to an XP12/10 setup here soon for ZdayZ, and I will be driving daily on them as well.

Those are the best options for the track.

If you're gonna street the pads, i'd do XP8 on all 4 corners.

XP8s all 4 corners here, daily driver. Love em, but if you're car budget is low, stay stock. Brake fluid for sure though.

I had the Nismo brake pads from the factory. Good DD pad and they worked well at a Big Willow HPDE but I never stayed out the full 30 minutes during any one session (oil temps pre-oil cooler). The Nismo pads were dust monsters (like the Carbotechs but not as good on track) and I got tired of cleaning my wheels every weekend so last weekend I swapped out the OE pads and rotors with EBC slotted rotors and their low dust Red Stuff (supposed to be good to about 1400F so they should work for a mild HPDE novice as long as you don't ride the brakes). The pads are still bedding so I haven't pushed them yet but I expect good results from what I have read and heard from others.

One other big bang for the buck thing you should be considering is stainless steel lines. These make a huge difference in brake feel and modulation on track. If your flushing new fluid you might as well put the new lines in at the same time.

On track it will all come down to your experience level and the layout of the track if an aggressive street pad will hold up. Personally I don't like the idea of running track duty pads on a 95% street driven car. If my track visits start picking up I just plan to get a set of dedicated carbotech pads and rotors to swap out the day before.
