Don't get me wrong - I got a ride in an E92 M3 on the track two weekends ago, so I realize its stock brakes are hold up better than ours. That said, I was looking into issues with the sliding calipers they use and found this thread:

Why does BMW not use Brembo brakes - M3 Forum 2010 2009 BMW M3 2008 BMW M3 BMW E90 M3 E92

Their brake problems, in the end, don't sound that much different than ours. The brakes definitely have a higher tolerance, but for serious track work, they aren't enough. That made me feel a bit better about the Z.

Also funny - there are a few people on that thread who are doing full StopTech kits for looks alone. E92 owners have a bit more money to burn than most of us.

Yeah, anyone who does track their M3 knows they have to change pads immediately.

Agreed. I was just surprised that pads aren't even enough in some cases. I was also surprised that the E92 still uses sliding calipers.

Say what you will about Porsche (and I do!), but at least they put real stoppers on their cars. 'Course they charge way too much, but still.

I would be pissed at having a $60K M3 that needed a BBK to avoid fade in a 1/2 hour session.

This is exactly why a full AP Racing front/rear system was done for those guys as well:

E92 M3 AP Racing BBK Review (long) - M3 Forum 2010 2009 BMW M3 2008 BMW M3 BMW E90 M3 E92

Problem solved (even if BMW wasn't the one to solve it)!

That guy really seems bummed with the upgrade

I can't wait until I can do my BBK. Two more track days left for me in this year; hopefully I'll be able to afford brakes and KWs for the start of 2010 season...

It's nice to just not have to worry, especially when it comes to brakes.
