I have an Escort Redline installed in my Z. I swapped it out for an 8500 that I then installed in my DD. Not much difference between the two units IMHO. I use them only when highway driving … so false alarms are not a major issue. It should be obvious if it's a genuine Passport Escort detector. If in doubt, either post a pic of your unit and someone will let you know or visit the Passport website and compare the appearance of your unit with the photo(s) shown on the site.
