Default 2013 base Z door molex mod for speaker wires

I have a 2013 Base Z with No BOSE

I followed the diy listed below here to remove the door molex and it was a success.

Door speaker wire DIY

However, for drilling holes and running new speaker wire through it is a problem. My Molex looks nothing like the one in the DIY. The area used to drill a hole to run a wire through looks like its already being utilized unlike in the dyi pictures. The video does not help at all.:-(

What do I do???

Exactly what i was going to say to do, I ran into my first 2013 molex connector earlier this year and I will tell you it wasn't fun. Did you have any trouble with the metra wiring harness and your hew head unit not getting power because the wiring was changed?

You MIGHT, I have seen a few that say yes and a few that say no. I was one that brought the issue up with a 2013 I did. You might not have the issue. Here is a link.

Caution with 2013 models and install

I read that thread. it talks about moving pins around on the metra harness for the rear speakers for the steering wheel controls. What do you do about the headunit power issue though?

Do yourself a favor and just try to install it normally, if than after you install it you can not get it to power on than post back. How you get the unit to power on is you have to move a wire from where it is to the blank that is supplying power. IF you have a problem PLEASE contact metra and report it, I and a few others have contacted them and they have done nothing yet.
