Default Where do door and dash speaker wires split on base system???

Someone has to know. Where do the dash and door wires split off from each other??

Is it right behind the headunit (please, please say yes and make my life easy )? Or do they branch off close to the doors?

Searching high and low has not yielded any useful info

This is sort of a re post it will split were the crossover is. No one hs probably looked yet I will soon. Also the best thing for you is not if it was not right behind the dash, becasuse you still have to install your aftermarket crossovers and bypass the factory one.

Yeah somewhat of a repost, but truthfully I just want to know where these wires split and really couldn't care less about the crossover. I just figured there may be a factory crossover near the take off point. Basically I'm wanting to use the factory wires and make my life simple.

Oh well, my stuff should be in tomorrow. Maybe I'll find out the location, or maybe I'll just say the hell with it and run new wires.

That is the best way to do it is to use the factory wiring there is nothing wrong with it. But you will still have to bypass the crossover and if it is the bose than the amp and all.

Hey Bigaudiofan Can we keep the Base HU and just replace the factory speakers and use the factory wires the crossovers pretty much all factory wires?

You can use the wires but the factory crossover is not designed for the aftermarket speakers so you are going to basicaly limit what the speaker gets and it will not sound right.

Well, I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I spent most of the day upgrading my base audio.

As near as I can tell, the crossovers for the BASE stereo are on the speakers themselves. The wires ran to each speaker and terminated in a speaker wiring harness. On the speakers themselves (after the connection to harness) is a simple resistor which I assume functions as a passive high pass crossover.

So if I am correct, once you disconnect the stock speakers, you have also removed the stock crossovers. You're left with two sets of wires in parallel without any crossovers (until you add your own).
