Amp Mount - Behind Passenger Seat?

good practice to not mount amps directly to metal chassis to begin with.
The only issue I see with the velcro is when the amp gets hot, will it stick, or will the adhesive melt off?? Time will tell, I guess.

I haven't heard that one before, but I haven't mounted an amp since 50W was considered high-power for a car (I've wired a lot of systems, but leave the physical installation to others). What's the problem? Vibration? Ground loop? Something else?

Exactly right, ground loop issue. Nowadays probably not so much of an issue with isolated grounding in newer electronics, but back in the day when I learned to install, it was a big no-no. Just something that stuck with me to this day. better safe than sorry, I say.

Thanks. Sounds like, if nothing else, isolating the amp would give you one less thing to worry about when troubleshooting.
I don't remember running into any ground loop problems back in The Good Ol' Days, but we weren't likely to bolt the amps down. Most common setup was just shoved under one of the seats. If you wanted to show it off, you'd screw it down to the fiberboard on the back shelf.

Ofttimes 'tis better to know what not to do than what to do.
