I will be contacting you Monday. Are you going to cover the shipping costs as well or will the end user be taking care if that.

Sounds great Ituan!

For everyone else, we should clarify, though, that our free offer is only valid for the US. As you can imagine, international shipping costs are way too high for us to extend the offer beyond the US.

Got mine this morning. Have a few questions.

Will this be enough to sound deaden the doors? It looks like it might be, but I don't want to start, and run out. Guess I could just order more if I don't have enough.

Does GTMat come in different thicknesses? I have used Dynamat extreme in the past, and this seems to be about the thickness of regular Dynamat, not the extreme version. Is this correct?

Thanks a tons for sending me the sample. I will post pics and a review once I get around to installing it soon.

:hello:

I don't think it will be enough for both doors to be done completely, though we have not had anyone test it on a Z yet. You may have to place an order to get the project completed. The good news is that since we are both in Texas, shipping time will run about 1 day should you need to place an order. :)

You are correct, the free sample is 50 mil which is the same thickness as regular Dynamat. We do offer an 80 mil version as well if interested. As usual our rates for both products will be lower than Dynamat.

Thanks for inquiring and we look forward to helping you complete your project!

Really cool of you guys to have a program like this. Get your product out there and help out the community at the same time!

I'll be sure to write up a review once it's installed.

See how it compares to the other products I use.

Just got mine in today! Thanks Huckleberry for posting pix, im gonna do the same thing...did you have any leftover?

Huckleberry 08-16-2012 01:46 AM

yeah, I had a tile slightly larger than the spare. That should be just enough to do the underside of plastic cover on the hatch!

GTMat 08-16-2012 09:41 AM

Huckleberry, thank you for the pictures!! We eagerly await your review sir. :tiphat:

Sound Deadening

In my experience, the majority of the unwanted noise is from the wheel wells. Just tap on the rear wheel wells...the metal is thin!

Its best to remove the plastic rear hatch side panels that cover the shock towers in order to reduce unwanted noise entering the cabin.

First, the rear hatch rubber gasket needs to be pulled up to the top of these plastic side panels before these plastic panels can be removed. Next, the 4 plastic tie down clips need to be removed by inserting a standard blade screwdriver in the clip slots.

Second, the rear hatch plastic panel clips need to be removed before the rear hatch side panels and its clips can be remove. The rear hatch light need to be disconneted.

Third, the rear hatch side panels clips need to be removed.

Once all these rear hatch plastic panels are removed, the foam piece located in front of the space tire well can be removed so the sound deadening material can be installed on the steel car frame.

The other area of the 370Z that transfers noise into the cabin is the doors. The best way is to removed the door interior panels and remove the access panel in order to gain access the the back side of the door skins. This is time consuming and involves disconnecting the window motors and can have issues with the window tracks and window motors.

I would suggest reviewing the 370Z service manual that can be downloaded from this web site prior to removing the plastic panels. Also, a plastic panel removal tool is a must to prevent damage to the plastic panels.

Good luck!

Would anyone be interested in having their car featured on our promotional flyer? Preferably a full shot showing an install if possible?

ALthough I have my Z covered in sound deadening material (not your brand) I am up for it if you have a spray on sound deadening material. It would have to hold up to outside weather since I would spray in on the wheel wells.

Bummer, we do not have any spray on product at this time. Thanks for the offer though!

Huckleberry 08-16-2012 06:40 PM

I'd offer, but I don't know what I'm doing!

24hour impression:

The car is definitely a lot quieter. It's truly a god send for us that run around without a spare. Everything is still holding up great, even looks a bit more flat!

BAD 24/7 08-16-2012 08:21 PM

I luckily got your sample today. Some delivery companies use a navigation that has the wrong coordinates of my address but I know the person at my local post office who called my grandmother. Once my mother recovers from her surgery and can manage by herself. I'll get going on installing the stuff and be sure to write a great review! I can tell by the feel that this is no cheap stuff and will surely help out no matter where I put it.

GTMat 08-17-2012 10:27 AM

Glad to hear you received it Bad 24/7!

Install was super easy! The supplied GTMat retractable ruler and roller helped a bit too. Thanks for everything! I forgot to get a picture with the trunk mat back in but I'm sure everyone already knows what that looks like. The system consists of 2 JL W1's in a custom box. It pounds hard!

Looks good sillyoldtayo!

We would appreciate if all reviews and install pics could also be posted on our Amazon listings found here: GT Sound Control @ Amazon.com:.

We are trying to build up the brand name. :)

Still offering the free samples if anyone else wants to try it out!

I'll be giving you guys a call tomorrow!

sillyoldtayo 08-20-2012 03:02 AM

you guys are more than welcome to use the pictures I posted.

So my review on the sound control is as follows. I have managed to eliminate some road noise! At slow speeds I can tell a difference in the road noise coming from the back of the car. I didn't cover the entire hatch/trunk area so I'm not expecting a drastic change but for 10sq feet of product it did quiet things down considerably back there. The bass sounds about the same, the one rattle I had(unknown where it was coming from) is no longer there so I'm happy! A weird side note, I feel like my exhaust sounds deeper now? When I downshift, the rev match throttle blip sounds slightly deeper. That could be all be in my head. Anyway great product, great bang for the buck as well judging by your Amazon listings!

Thanks for the info. I'll be looking over the service manual. I actually started removing everything yesterday but wasn't sure about the panels. Then the ADD kicked in and I just started working on something else.

I'm looking forward to driving once the process is complete (if it ever stops raining), and from reading the opinions of others who already installed their sample, it seems likely I'll be purchasing more to finish the car.

Hmm, as long as you have an Amazon account, it should let you post a review without purchasing anything. Anyone else having issues?

vermithrax 08-21-2012 11:34 AM

I thought you had to actually purchase an item to review it.
