I figured it out! I signed up for an Amazon account but I have never purchased anything before so it would not let me write a review. I logged onto my girlfriend Lindsay's (LShoe) account, who has purchased items before, and it allowed me too!

I'm down... I have some in the back of my car right now that I don't think is doing the job it should. I've been thinking about pulling it out and going with something else.

Just finished install today. I never used any sound deadening product before so I can't compare to other brands. Installation was easy. The GTMat is flexible and easy to apply. The whole trunk took me about 2-3 hours. I don't have the plastic trims install back yet since I have other wiring to do, but by driving around for 15 mins, I can tell the road noise did decrease and the exhaust note sound more clear (not sure do u know what I mean). I will definitely recommend to my friends and may purchase more to finish the door.

Not the most professional install. I just cut the mat into small pieces to apply on those hard to measure/cut area. Since it will be covered anyway, so I didn't try to make it pretty.

How do your products handle high heat scenarios? I live in Phoenix where the summers get rather toasty. I've read about other products falling apart, separating, becoming unglued, etc.

Our heat oven test video is perfect for addressing this. The short answer would be that our GTMat product can withstand temps up to 350 degrees which is higher than the leading discount product. We have shipped many samples to your neck of the woods and all customers have pleased. We have not heard of any issues whatsoever. Our heat video is below.

Are you guys doing liqui-damp samples too? Is it too late for sheet samples?

We have not opened up the liquid to free samples just yet. Give us a call tomorrow morning to get your free mat sample!

GTMat 10-18-2012 05:26 PM

We could always use more likes on our Facebook page! You can also share your reviews and installs here. https://www.facebook.com/GtSoundControl

GTMat 10-22-2012 04:17 PM

Quick question for you guys: Do you prefer the mat product shipped in roll form or precut into sheets?

afbunn 10-22-2012 04:55 PM

Roll form. It allows the customer to cut it how they want it, whatever size they want it.

The sample I got (10 sq ft, IIRC) covered approx. 1/3 (maybe a little bit more) of the area from the front of the towers back on my '09 Touring w/Bose. If you think you may run out of material, I'd save the area under the spare for last - it has the spare and the subwoofer on top of it, which should do some damping.

Don't expect dead quiet, even with full coverage, but the sample does do a good job of reducing the noise level.

silver streak 10-22-2012 07:18 PM

Thanks for the info i have an '09 base and would like to try and eliminate as much noise as possible i install my new hu and speakers while everything is taken apart. This helps me judge how much extra material will be needed to complete the job.

:iagree:

Give us a call for your sample, silver streak (The forum member, this is not the name of a liquid product).

Tracie, sounds great. I'll be calling tomorrow for a sample if it's still going on. Quick question, I'm doing a full install on a roadster as I've already got my carpet and seats pulled out. Which provides the best quality of sound deadening-paint or roll?

I believe it all comes down to how clean you want the install to be. The liquid product can be more of hassle but you can add as many layers as you want. Each layer for the Liqui-Damp is rated at a nominal 32mil layer. Essentially, 3 layers would put you above our thickest mat product. If you are comfortable with the drying time between layers and wish to go higher than 80mil, I would suggest the liquid.

The mat product will be a cleaner install but may not reach the corners/crevices of some spaces easily. It is also limited to the 80mil thickness at this time. You can also layer this as well, though.

At the risk of sounding too much like a salesperson, I would suggest utilizing both. The liquid can be applied on top of the mat for better coverage.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about either product.

Just ordered. Will review soon. Looking forward to it and considering some of the paint too. I'd be willing to test a free sample of that as well, if you'd like:)

Unfortunately we were only offering one sample per forum and NickD had expressed interest in it. We have not heard from him though.

Hey guys,
I just got the sample the other day and I'm very excited to get it on the car. Unfortunately, I've been sick all week and haven't been able to install it yet, but I plan to next week. :)

I'll write up a review with pics of the install for everyone to check out.

lol barely! Sorry about that. I was in bed all week. Today was my first day out.

I'll be ripping off my door panel next week though to get the sample installed. I'm especially excited to see if it reduces some of the road noise in the cabin from having a roadster and the annoying vibrations in my doors from playing the radio loud. :woot:

MIGHTYMOUSE 10-26-2012 04:01 PM

Just ordered 25 sqft of the 80mil. :happydance:

Ole Rusty 10-28-2012 04:33 PM

Received my sample yesterday! Very good looking package with a free roller and small sample of 80 mil sound deadening material. Can't say anything about the installation or performance yet, but I've been impressed so far by the packaging and Look forward to putting it in as soon as the weather warms up a bit.
