Well you live you learn... found out after reading the Service Manual for 2010s (didn't see it mentioned in the 2009 SM) that the steering communicator goes through the bluetooth

Well you live you learn... found out after reading the Service Manual for 2010s (didn't see it mentioned in the 2009 SM) that the steering communicator goes through the bluetooth module before going to the headunit (even the source/volume/preset buttons). Well as luck would have it I had removed the bluetooth module and XM unit when I installed the pioneer ones. Hooked it back up and everything worked. I'll try jumping the BT harness so I can remove it and use the call buttons with my new deck but atleast the volume and other controls function properly now.
BTW on 2010 tourings I used a white and grey wire. Add that to the list of functioning leads. |
