I just purchased the Axxess ASWC and I am getting ready to do an install, however I've read people are having problems with it.

What I'm asking here is has anyone been able to get it to work correctly?

I have a 2009 Base and I am putting in a Pioneer x920bt.

Yes. I love mine. I had it set up with one HU, then I switched to a new HU. I couldn't get it to auto program on the new unit, but it only took a few minutes to do a manual program. I had the PAC unit first and hated it. Once you get the programming set, it works flawlessly. Some people have mentioned slow iPod response at times, but I believe it's more the iPod than it is the Axxess.
I've recommended it quite a few times and will continue to.
Mine's driving a Kenwood DNX9960.

Don't you have to download something first? $50 for the cable.

I would return it and get the PAC-PS. Mine took no more than 1-2min to program, no need to download anything, and no need to swap HU. And works responsively.

The downloading only has to do with updating the firmware which updates and adds more headunits. You don't have to do it you can still program manually. The "swapping" that I mentioned is only because I upgraded my HU. doesn't have anything to do with the Axxess.

i see... but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of getting Axxess if you have to MANUALLY program it? the differentiator for this unit was that the installer can just plug it in and DONT have to program it? do you still have to wire up resistors? i not, then i can see that part having some benefit over peripheral/pac modules... but not sure if that's worth the $20 price difference.

anyway, if big's doing the install i dont think you'll run into problems either.

The auto-programming worked fine for my first headunit, but I think I got in a hurry when I did the second one. I think I was supposed to reset it and I didn't.
No resistors. The greatest benefit that I've found is the speed that it reacts. Plus it's built a lot more robustly than the PAC. Larger wires IIRC.
I hated screwing with those stupid resistors in the PAC also.

What $20 differential are you talking about? They both go for about $45 on Amazon...?

Really? I must not be shopping at the right store then. I saw $38 for the PAC and $59 for the Axxess.
