Default Upgrading the NISMO sound system, suggestions?

I've been looking around before I made this post, and I just couldn't find what I needed to know. So here goes.

Is it possible to get the radio or entire stereo from the touring 370 into the NISMO? I am really interested in having the Nav along with all of those speakers (8 according to C&D) and possibly the sub(s).

I'd really like to have a stock look but have the sound of the touring, nothing outstanding but it would be just fine for me. Having aftermarket subs is not a plan nor something I would be terribly interested in. I just want a several speaker system that sounds good and looks stock.

If the touring option is not possible then is there any recommendations for HU's with nav and possible steering wheel controls? Also, is the NISMO sound system limited to having 4 speakers like it is stock or is there room for an increase in the number of speakers because I know the touring has about 8 and I can't imagine Nissan making the 370s different; are those "holes" for the extra speakers in the NISMO as well, just not occupied with anything?

Thanks for taking time to read/comment on this, I tried to make sure I was up to speed on everything before I asked.

You would be better off going full after market. you can get a nice HU, retain SWC with a module. Then swap out for some nice speakers, even if you don't want a sub i would suggest something like a 6.5 tube, or even an 8" sub with a small custom box. You would have room for everything out of sight, and end up with better sound then any stock system the Z came with.

I have the base sound, and I just got home from having some Alpine Type R components/tweeters put in. They sound amazing, they're like $280 a pair including the tweeters, and I was out the door $400 installed. Not sure what it would run to get one with the higher speaker count, but I'd definitely look into those

I just installed some cdt hd642's. It was going to take alot of fabbing to get all 3 in the doors. I installed the 6.5's in stock location. Cut holes in the top of the door panels for the tweeters and installed the the 4ins in the "stock location" behind the sets and mounted the xovers on the shelves behind the seats. I have to turn the sub (IDQ12) down because it covers up the sound coming from the 6.5s. It really helps pull the stage toward the front. If I have the sub cranked, all i really hear is the 4's screaming at me from the behind. Stick to the 2 way it. Unless you are going to do it right and do alot of work or pay somebody alot of money for the fab required to make it fit don't go with 3 way. I don't mind it for me. I have low standards and realize my I am going to wind up with when I do something. If you are an audiophile or are very picky I would not recommend it. If done right they do sound amazing though.

I only have what I do because I got a good deal on another forum's classified section. If'/when I go active and I can tune the fade on the component set it maybe a different story.

As far as HU's go, I like Pioneer. I see alot of people here run Kenwood. I have heard the kenwood HU's can be kind of laggy in menu navigation (stereo shop owner who had it in his personal vehicle and was talking up Pioneer which he also sales) but I don't have any personal experience with them. Also heard the Alpine units can be a PITA to navigate, but again this is just second hand (friend who is a mechanic at a Nissan dealer. he didn't like it at all).

OP,
See sig below for H/U recommendation that has nav and keeps the steering wheel controls. As far a upgrading the speakers, adding a sub etc, there's plenty of folks on here who've done that with very good results.
