I programmed it after installing the new HU, but before I put all the dash panels back on, that way I could pull out the black box unit and see

I programmed it after installing the new HU, but before I put all the dash panels back on, that way I could pull out the black box unit and see the red lights as well as reset the device. I had the ignition on, and the radio going so I could see/hear the volume going up/down etc.
