Default Best Value/Fit Ipod Mount & Charger?

I'm looking for a semi-short term Ipod solution for my new Nismo Z. On my previous car and my wifes current car I used the DICE and liked how it charged and itegraded with the car contols. Both cars used factory nav so it was all I needed.

Some time down the road I want to get a double din head unit with nav, BT and Ipod control but it's probably not realistic for about a year. I kinda promissed the wife I'd chillax for a while after getting the more expensive Nismo.

I'd like to get something that will place the Ipod near the stock radio. Maybe in front of the passenger side knee pad so I can charge using the plug on the passenger side footwell, run a short aux cable to the radio and be able to reach it.

The problem is the ones I've seen that have a simple mount and a stiff flexitble cord terminating to a power plug dont look long enough. The power port on the foot well is like 16 inches way from the stereo area. I haven't seen any kits where the AUX cable is stiff and flexible terminating to a mount but that would be cool.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Again I want something to get me down the road until I can get the real deal so the cheaper the better lol.

Thanks in advance.

If you have the nav system than you have three rca plugs in the center compartment. Get a Y splitter and connect your ipod to that. That would be your best bet without seriously doing a lot of extra work. Or a FM modulator.

He has a Nismo, no Nav. Think Base stereo.

Got ya, I am not sure if pac has made an aux input add on yet for the 370z. Or if another company has. I will have to look into it. But if you are going to put a new unit in the future I would just wait. And use something like a fm modulator in the meantime.

Thanks for the info on the SWI products I appreciate it. That's basically what a DICE is, and I wasn't looking for something that expensive. I am looking for something like this:

Griffin Technology: TuneFlex Aux - Mount, charge, and play your iPod in your car

Basically a cheap simple charging/mounting solution for now. The above adapter would be perfect except the cord doesn't appear to be long enough to reach from the passenger side foot well to the front of the knee pad or stereo area. I'm going to call them and see if the make a longer version or extension.

that actually wouldn't be that bad with the under-dash 12v port, hrm.

It looks like the design is exactly what I want but I just went out to the car and measured. I have a cell phone charger in the under-dash 12v port at the moment and from the back of that to near the stereo is about 13-14". I don't think it's going to be long enough

Edit: I called and they don't make a longer version. The one above is maybe 4-5ft max. I've searched a bit on line and I can find a lot of 12v car extension cables but none that are that stiff shape-able cable like the Griffin kit. Anyone have any idea where to get an extension like that or some other solution?

Thanks.

I actually like those adapters. Just two question: which one should I get for my 370z stock radio, and where would I have the port for the Ipod come out through? I was thinking maybe something that's under the center cupholder(the one that lifts out) sorry don't mean to trounce on your original question.

No problem asking more questions. Either one will work just different makers. The plug you can have come into your glove box without drilling any holes. Or you can drill a hole and put the plug in the storage spot just above the radio.
