The rca cables have a small red wire that you can use for the reverse signal. I think my problem is that the camera it self is either grounded bad or not getting power. I'm using a separate ground and using the green wire that is connected to the reverse light bulb. Should I be using the orange wire for power for the camera ????
Yes

I'm doing a backup camera in another 370 on Thursday I think. Want me to try to take pictures?

if you could take pictures of exactly the wires that you use to power the camera and ground that would be great thanks

I don't remember having to run my red wire rca by the head unit all the way back to the trunk just rca itself. the red wire up there should be to the reverse wire out of the head unit. and the reverse bulb wire I just grabbed it and followed it till I came through the grommet in the car that's where I tapped mine and just ran the ground to the chassis that's all that should be required just double check the rca is in the right video plug in the back of the head unit. some have specifics to the camera and not just the DVD player attachment.

I have a 2014, there is no orange wire in the kick panel for the reverse trigger, did the color change?

Adding to this thread and maybe one or two others as I just added my aftermarket radio to my stock rear camera and some of the wires are different colors than what I've been seeing here. My Z is a 2019 Heritage manual.

In some threads I've seen the camera wires as being contained within a larger insulated gray wire. In my case it was a blue wire.
Some images show this gray wire containing 1 green, 1 red, 1 white and 1 black wire. In my case there was a red, white and black wire.
I tapped the white wire as ground and the black wire as positive for the rca cable that connects to the rear of my radio.
This differs from other instructions stating that the black wire is ground, red is positive and green is the reverse light trigger.

Here's an image from another thread showing the blue wire in the back hatch area. It looks the same in the kick panel.

For the trigger wire that shows voltage when in reverse, some threads referred to an orange or tan wire in the drivers side kick panel area. My wire is tan with a white stripe, also in the kick panel.

Hope this helps others with late model Z's that might have the same wiring as mine.

On an aftermarket HU I'm not following why anyone is going to the kick panels for triggers.

I added a camera to mine within the past month and simply ran connected the RCA to the HU and the single RCA wire to the HU reverse trigger. Out back grounded the camera black wire and wired both the RCA single wire end and cam power (red) together to a reverse light power wire at the tail light. Easy piesie, 1.5 hr. job in total

In my case, there's already a factory camera. No need to run wires from the taillight, just a few feet from the kick panel.
