Sport/Nismo Tech + Aftermarket Head Unit Questions

Has anyone replaced their head unit from their 'tech' package with an aftermarket display? The position of the display being closer to eye level is appealing to me, so I'm wondering if it's possible to use an aftermarket product to replace the OEM display.

I believe the "Tech" is the same as the old "Touring" and there are tons of threads about that version.
