Yea I use a layer of tape then cover the tape with aluminum foil to be sure the resin doesn't soak through, it also helps the mold come out easier. Be sure to let the mold dry fully before you pull it out as it can warp while drying, so you stand a better chance of it being correct if you let it fully cure in place. I learned that one hard way.
