Little schmear of metal after oil change

I have the Z1 oil drain plug with the magnet on the tip. Smeared the end on my glove after dumping the oil and that shiny schmear is the result. Normal-ish?

Oil is redline 5W30. Changed at 2,819 miles on an engine w 29,819 miles on the odometer. Mobil1 oil filter.

Grabbed a sample for Blackstone from this oil change and am shipping it out tonight. Also - can I just drop the container Blackstone provided in a mailbox or do I need to go into the post office?

For that small amount of metal, I wouldn't get too worried about it. I'd put it on the keep-an-eye-on-it-for-a-while-maybe-do-the-next-oil-change-a-little-early list. Or get a UOA if I were the type to worry. Your analysis report should tell you all you need to know.

Honestly I always wondered the same thing but was a little scared to ask. At one point he made a joke that made it clear he was a guy. I'm glad it's not just me.
