Mine was also thinning out as well, maybe not so white but definitely dirty and thinned out. But when I used the soft bristled brushed it seemed to pull the fibers back up in a way..... it almost helps to lift the fabric. Just make sure you brush in one continuous direction, I went from front to back and it worked out good. Check the site and fallow the directions it will turn out pretty good
 GL sidenote: My buddy was able to get a cola stain out of his by fallowing the directions so I think they are pretty accurate.
