My two cents...
I don't know the causation of increased numbers of accidents involving the 370Z vice the 350... While your premise may have better than 50/50 accuracy, I would say it only holds true for rear-end collisions when the 370 is stopped. I suspect more data would need be collected to determine if the numbers of 370 accidents to date were weighted more heavily toward rear end collision or otherwise. Having said that... If indeed it is found that rear end collisions have a higher incidence of occurrence and that the actuary tables indicate an increased risk: It does make the case for Driving the 370, vice ever stopping for a light or a sign... I'd be happy to start a federal petition (in another thread) in the hope that enough grass-roots signatures would result in making the 370Z exempt from all penalty when Rolling (for safety's sake) stop-signs and red lights. Also known as the "California Stop" or the "Massachusetts Ooze" perhaps we can cut down on the number of accidents involving the 370Z. Personally, I feel we would be delivering a public service. I'll cite the obvious engineering fault only recently discovered that has created a visual impairment and obvious increased risk to our fellow enthusiasts - indeed - the public at Large... Before I go through the effort and lengthy process of drafting and preparing the bill - Is there any interest?

Just got my car back from the shop 2 ago days but I need someones help because I cant remember for the life of me. On the rear bumper of the car where the 2 indention's are on that black trim piece can anyone tell me if there are caps that are supposed to go in those 2 indention's. Because if I look down in them I can see the the ground underneath the car. I know that they already messed it up because they painted that piece the same color as the car and I know it should be left black. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is shitty news to hear of so many rear end collisions already to our 40th's.
I am all for never stopping that sounds like the best answer.......JK I have the Canadian model so I just throw the fog on 24/7 dusk to dawn, and so far I seem to be getting good distance from the public 90%time but there's always a few A$$ holes |

Mmmm that really sucks, heres my 2 cents, no one cares to hit your old car...lol but if you have a new one, lets hit them!!! woo I have my old 91 lude as my DD and I park it wherever in walmart parking lots and what not and never get door dings or people whipping out in front of me etc! However when I drive my newer cars Ill park 2 miles out and come out and have ppl parked right next to me with shitty cars and I get a random door ding...which leads to their car getting keyed *cough cough* and I cant tell you the times ive had ppl whip out in front of me and make me go offroad etc to dodge an accident....what this means is that you have such a beautiful car that people wana get close to you to check it out...and in doing so screw it up!!! I know this post is old but I hope they did a good job. I love the 40th's color.

This is why I always loved loud exhausts, more times then not people will hear me and then see me, greatly reducing the chances of inattentive collisions.

Sorry about this happening to you.
My theory why this is potentially happening to owners: The 370Z taillights provide a forced perspective of movement and our third brake light is lower than the top portion of the rear taillights. The taillights give the illusion of forward movement by tapering off into the horizon. The 350Z breaks-up this illusion through having the third brake light at the top of the rear hatch—your vision stops there with a definitive horizontal light bar. Our third brake light is low (and under the rear wing on the sports package) when being viewed by a taller vehicle or a fast approaching vehicle. This is my theory and I welcome others to constructively critique it (except Nissan's corporate shills, lawyers, PR and marketing). Our taillights are literally pointing forward. The best taillights that convey the most definitive statement when lighted are Ferrari's. Circular, vertical to the plane, unmistakable visual indication—at any speed. The 370Z's taillights are more a stylistic statement versus form follows function.
