I just talked to Heidi and asked for my production number. She said she will let me know next week. I also asked for the plaque and she said she will investigate into what can happen. That sounds like only if enough people complain about it then Nissan will hand out plaques. Come on everyone! Call Heidi at Nissan North America Consumer Affairs at (800) 647-7261 Ext. 41462 and ask for build number AND plaque.

Man! Since Dropped1 is 104, that means i didn't get a single # production model. Lowest I can get is #10. I am now rooting for #10 or #37.

Bought My Z last Saturday

Was trying to get the dealer to install the nav system but I really think I was B.S. about having the system installed. Any one else run into this dealer double talk?

Rui Z Its my understanding that the VIN # has absolutely nothing to do with the build number. So it is at this point for you... Totally indeterminable as to what your build number is. If there were a way from the Vin # - I would have gotten the decryption method from Heidi and figured out everyone's build number and posted it on here As a Gift to you all... I however, did the best that I could and provided you with the source to contact. Glad to hear Dropped got his build number!! He's local - we rolled together side by side earlier this month... He got his 40th in April I believe, I got mine mid-May. But I think he bought his in NY and brought it here after a change of duty station... He'd have to confirm that tho... good luck with your search! DP

I always thought the VIN # was in chronological order of the car being manufactured at that plant. So say that no other model except the north American 40th anniversary car was being built at the Toguchi plant in Japan between mine and Dropped1's car. Then my production model # would be 10 since our VIN number is only 94 apart. However, if they built Euro 40ths in between me and dropped1 then my production number would be closer to Dropped1.

Edit: my z was purchased in new jersey, its build date is 12/23/09. Thanks to dark path for finally finding the info we all have been waiting for !!

Suggest all who deal with "Heidi" in regard to finding out their Anniv. Z's build number thank her. Make a big deal out of thanking her during your phone conversation(s) with her as she truly desires the thanks. Heidi has been the only one at Nissan that has worked hard/obtained the build numbers. Hopefully she will find out many more for other 2010 Anniv. Edition owners.

I am considering calling her back to request that I be provided a replacement 40th Anniversary badge to replace the one between the seats - one that includes the build number. It should have been included with the vehicle in the first place and all this BS would have been avoided.

Anyway - that is the story surrounding my build number. Hope it helps you find the build number of yours.

Hello all, UPDATE: I have invited each owner listed above, up to and including entry number 88, to the 40th Anniversary Social Group... 57 of the 88 invitees have responded. I see that folks learning their build number has slowed to a trickle... Perhaps that is due to the 4th of July holiday. I think it is probably relevant to say to the new folks here that if you have not read the entire thread you may have missed some good information. Specifically - Heidi's phone number at NISSAN Consumer Affairs. If interested, provide Heidi with your VIN # and ask to learn your BUILD number. She has been very successful. Then once your build number is known quote the last list page into a new message - and include your build number next to your name.

Have anyone tried to get some touchup paint (Quarts),I ordered touchup paint from nissan dealer and havnt recieved it yet, its been three weeks so far, They keep telling me that they dont get the paint from nissan anymore, So i have to be patient and just keep waiting, I think this is a bunch of bull.
