We ought to create a social group on this site in conjunction with this thread. I can set it up and send invites from this list. We've easily got enough identified owners to make for a decent discussion and while the differences between the 40th and the rest are small we could track things that pop up in these particular models in a common easy to find place. Whatcha all think?

Got my 40th while home on vacation back in March. Got it in storage (Texas) while in Japan. I'll make my post with last set of the VIN # when I get back in a few weeks. Going to drive it to the new homestead (San Diego) in June.

I think that's a great idea DarkPath. Perhaps have a word with AK as well, maybe he'd create a new category for us 40th owners, similar to the Roadster and NISMO sections of the forums.

I live in Japan (for one more week). I asked a friend of mine about the number of 40th anniversary Z's are over here. He told me that there are no set numbers produced for Japan. The cars here can have any option added to them also. He had lots of Nismo items put on as options "suspension/upgraded brakes/nav/ect". Of course it costs a bunch as well. I think I'll stop by the Nissan dealership tomorrow to ask if there is a way to tell what the production numbers are on North American cars. No promises on a good answer though.

I'd be very interested in the Fairlady 40th Anni numbers.

I'm guessing only corporate will know the production numbers for the US. Damn, why was it so hard for them to put a production number on our cars? They did it for the Euro version and the Nismo models. Instead all we get is 1970-2010. I should e-mail Nissan USA headquarters and complain about it along with not getting my $4000 refund back for cancelling extended warranty and maintenance program after 3 months!
