To JoeD-knowitall-tireexpert-bigshot-60yearoldwithallthe experience. This is obviously a pointless comment/ststament but wth! - On my rx-8 I ran a set of PS2's (on the stock 18x8 wheels), they had horrible wet traction - they had OK dry tractions and they wore out in less than a year (I don't drive tpp aggressively). My next set of tires? Kumho Ecsta SPT - I would give those tires a 9 in wet and dry and an 8 in wear as oppose to those infamous PS2's you swear by which got a 6 in dry, 4 in wet and a 3 in wear - but that's just from my personal experience and doesn't matter or maybe I got a bad set.

Since Mr. JoeD-knowitall had to throw out the Bridgestone pictures I may as well throw out the Kumho reveiw right!?

Best bang for buck tires would be Federals 595/ 595RS. Falken do make great tires, I really like the Azenis RT615, they grip pretty well for track and street use. I wouldn't recommend them for daily use tho, but you can (well I did). Do not use RT615 if you are going to complain about fast tread wear, or not being all season (it doesn't hold up well in the rain esp for RWD from my experience).

I still love you and your crazy sense of humour - this forum is clearly just one of the ways you release some of the naughty old testosterone you're building up till you're old enough to buy that car.

hey joed, why did you buy the 370z? it only has 90% of the performance that the cayman S has, but you'd only have to be on a budget to get this one. Why not spend the extra dough and do it right, like tires? I mean what's an extra few bux gonna do per year for the cayman s when you're doing it right? dont settle for this budget pseudo racecar.

I'm got tired of dumping $1200 (T1-S and T1-R) for tires since I'm no hardcore racer or anything. I mainly needed something that fits my Volks and could outperform the craptastic RE040 OEM tires on my 350Z.

My dad had the FK-451 on his Z a few weeks after I got my Volks and T1-S tires (circa 2004). I went through 2 sets of Toyos, sold my '03 350Z earlier this year, and bought the 370Z in April. My dad JUST replaced his first set with FK-452 last month.

So this time around I'm going to look for a set that is quieter and performs at least as well as the RE050 OEM tires. In fact, these tires are so much better to start off with than the RE040 from the 350Z.

I have used Fk-451s on my old WRX and noticed the tyres howled a lot.

My friend recently changed his tyres from Pirelli P-Zeros on his MB C63 AMG and he bought Fk-452s. They are ok. However, the only thing he dont like is that you can spin the tyres a lot easier.

My view is, if you drive a nice car, you can obviously afford it. So buy tyres in line with that mentality. It's the only thing between you and the road....
