We have a few powder coating shops at work and I've seen quite a few powder coated pieces from sheet metal to machined pieces (with the odd mag or steel rim somehow thrown in the mix ;P ) and I've never seen or heard of any of them cracking.... that's just my experience and that's not my field of work so take it for what its worth...
