285's vs 275's

If I'm not mistaken the 275 and 285 are millimeters? So its literally only one centimeter wider...

No the 285 is just a little less than an half inch wider than a 275 with a 35% sidewall.

The 225 indicates this tire is 225 millimeters across from the widest point of its outer sidewall to the widest point of its inner sidewall when mounted and measured on a specified width wheel. This measurement is also referred to as the tire's section width."

Therefore, 285mm - 275mm = 10mm = 1cm = 0.4in = just a little less than half an inch wider. Right? Or am I missing something?

Correct. About half an inch wider with a 285 tire but the diameter will also be a little larger as well! (0.27") Assuming 35 series tire.

But that is fine, as the Nismo comes with this size tire and it's perfectly fine.

Ah, so the diameter will be slightly larger because the fit on the wheel will really be about the same, causing the tire to bubble slightly?
