So I am looking for Tire recommendations for my 2011 Nismo. I am pretty sure this will be my last track session on my OEM's. I am looking for both Dry and Wet traction. I am not a hard core tracker, but I do like to go when I can. This year my plan is to got about 7 times. I have already been twice this year.
Rim size F. 9.5 x 19 Rim size R. 10.5 x 19 OEM: Yokohama ADVAN Sport F. 254/40-19 R. 285/35-19 So far I am looking at Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08. F. 255/35-19 = 2.7% Over OEM R. 305/30-19 = 2.3% Over OEM This will keep the VDC in Check. So any other ideas? Pic's of them mounted? Thanks C |

I was very happy with the AD-08s in the sizes you posted. Great dual purpose tire. Getting ready to mount some Hankooks for street driving, since they were a bit cheaper.

Thanks Mike.. I have done lots of searching, seems to a good setup for as you said " dual purpose tire ". The say it best to learn tracking on a dual purpose tire. Teaches you some limits and control. I feel I am at the point where I feel the whole car sliding in hard turns. Feels real cool to be in a controlled slide at 90 mph. Love it. I am going to try to make a road Atlanta HPDE this year sometime. Currently been running NOLA. It's a great track to learn on. It's Wide open..

I would suggest that you try to keep your tire widths as close as possible. 255 on the front and 305’s on rear will just give you under steer (I run a similar setup on the street strictly because it looks good). For a track/street setup on stock wheels I would run 275 all around.
And you don’t have to worry about tire diameters on a square setup. Although, your speedometer may be off. My track tires are 245/35/18 all around (6.85% smaller in diameter) and I have experienced no issues.

I am going to keep looking with the sizes you talked about an see what comes up. I would like to have another set of wheels, but right now is not the time for it, so this is why I was looking at the: F. 255/35-19 = 2.7% Over OEM R. 305/30-19 = 2.3% Over OEM Sizes, kind of dual purpose tire. I am understanding your point on the under steer some know. Boy have I got allot to learn. Thank for the input ResIpsa. |

Ok my heads hurts.. I am going to make it easy and get Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 in my OEM sizes. Not as good as the AD08's but better than the OEM ADVAN Sport and cheaper than the ADVAN Sport by about a $100.

I have 19x9.5, 19x10.5. I currently run 255/ 305. Going to 265 front next. I feel that's going to be my best bet when combined with -2.5 camber

Don’t worry so much about the percentage difference from stock wheel diameter. If you are running equally sized tires in the front and rear you will be fine because the front and rear will be the same. I think you would have problems with the VDC if your front and rear tire diameters were way off. Keep in mind I am only saying this because I think this would be the best setup for track use. Any of the sizes you suggested would work and look much better than a square setup.
