I was thinking about using 9.5" rims on all corners but noticed everyone uses 10 or 10.5. Is this for looks or does it have an effect on performance as

I was thinking about using 9.5" rims on all corners but noticed everyone uses 10 or 10.5. Is this for looks or does it have an effect on performance as well? I plan to use 275/35/18 square.

I chose 10.5 mainly because that's pretty much as wide as you can go for street/track suspension setups (although some guys run 11") , and because I'm running a 285 square tire. It fills up the fenders nicely too once camber is dialed in. From a performance standpoint I think the switch to a square setup will be significant reguardless of wheel width. I track with a very fast Z guy who uses 9.5 square.
