My wheels are finally shipping Monday so hopefully be here mid-week then I can get mine mounted up. Definitely looking forward to it. Kinda glad I wasn't able to get the DA's in a 325 after all :icon17:

Love it!

Perfect camber and fitment!

Finally, someone with "Big Meats."

This means a lot, coming from the "Originator" of the 345's out back on 12's!!!
As it was Your ~Z~ that got me wanting these Full-Sized meat's on the corner's of the chassis.

SG4247 02-16-2017 08:08 PM

A couple notes on the 325/285 RE-11 set up on my white 2010 a few pages back.

Car is flat fast in corners. So much lateral g now that it is apparent that better sway bars are needed - in the front for sure. Ive never owned a car that would corner like this.

Took it to the drag strip last Sat, and was a little disappointed in the hook from the 325 RE-11. Also paid a penalty in rotating weight because the rig was slower across all timers than I expected. Sixty foots were 2.18-2.20 where they were 2.12-2.14 with 275 Potenzas previously.

I found the 325 RE-11 on the 2013 Nismo wheel to be 3 lbs heavier than the original 275 Potenza on Ray/sport wheels. Not that much different.

Mileage is down about 2 mpg as well, but don't care.

Ride is improved, and tire noise is only noticeable at 45mph. Steering effort has increased with the 285 fronts, but I like it better this way.

Car tracks perfectly, and is hands off at 75 mph on the rough Oklahoma interstates.

Very pleased overall, but ordered some 285/35/19 MT ET Street SS to use on the dragstrip, we will see how they perform.

You are very welcome! :tiphat:

ChaseZ 02-16-2017 10:07 PM

Now you've got me thinking about the extra weight from the larger rubber. The 345 DA are 38lbs a piece! The new rims are only 19lbs, but the combo still isn't flyweight by any means.

Maybe I'll have to consider a second set of rears for DD duty. It's too bad there are no 325/35-18 available anymore in, well, pretty much anything. There is a Toyo Proxes TQ in 315/35-18 that comes in at 32lbs, and really that's the only viable alternative that comes to mind. Anyone have suggestions that I'm not thinking of??

jchammond 02-17-2017 03:07 AM

These tires/wheels on mine will not see the Dragstrip. At 10lbs heavier per each & being N/A for now...surly would be slower in 1/4 mile; just my cruising/mountain riding wheels.
They are smoother & quieter than my previous Nitto 555g2 or Goodyear F1 Eagles (245/45,275/40/18) on base wheels.
I've made a total of 9 passes in 1/4 mile over past 2.5 years (not much) but I am able to achieve 1.90's on my 60'.
Anticipating my 24,25mpg going away....as this was consistent every tank...but I love them so far; no complaints...may even encourage a gear swap to compensate/ no need for 200+ mph 3.357 diff.
The ride is amazing & handling, drive ability is much improved.
Was a bit leary of a 285/35 on a 10" wheel up-front...but really shocked me how well they feel.
Over next several weeks I'll post fuel mileage difference;as these larger diameter drive wheels have the speedometer dead on...so my 24,25'ish was being slightly fudged.
Have a great day...it's Friday!!!

Guyfromthere 02-17-2017 08:27 AM

Is 265/35 305/30 on 19x9.5+22 19x10.5+12 considered meaty ? :D

ChaseZ 02-17-2017 08:28 AM

I'm trying to recall but the number that jumps out to me for base 18" rears is something like 22lbs. Knowing the 275 RE11 I've been running are 31lbs that should be roughly 54lbs, so really I'm looking at an extra 3lbs with the new wheels and 345's. I can live with that. Good thing the new rims are lighter though to compensate otherwise it would have been real easy for the weight to be much greater than it's going to be.

Thanks for making me contemplate these things more specifically than I otherwise may have.

The 3% difference in diameter remains the piece I'm curious about how it will affect the end result now.

Progress.

Left: 245's which is what my car started life with on the rears
Middle: 275's I upgraded to before the nipples were off the OEM tires. 245's up front at this point
Right: 345 the new rear beef. The 275's are going up front now

ChaseZ 02-19-2017 10:48 AM

Apparently these things are way out of measurement until mounted. I was warmed about measuring them beforehand (which I already did of course lol) and would just scratch my head and wonder how they were going to work if I did.

So, somewhat heeding that advice albeit after the fact, I'll be patient and relatively confident about their fitment until the wheels arrive and can actually air them up.

I can see how they would be different in their most aired down un-mounted state; the rubber is so soft you can pretty much manipulate the entire tire by hand. Gosh, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if one could mount them without a tire machine :p

jchammond 02-19-2017 12:03 PM

use some good "Murphy's" tires soap or equivalent & you can...may have to put the backside of wheel hub on top of something,to keep tire from working against you.

Sounds like it is only available in 25lb containers, which probably costs as much as mounting them. Since I'd be surprised if I'd ever use it again it's not worth it.

Wonder if there is a substitute. Or maybe I should just leave it well enough alone since I need to take the TPMS out of the old ones anyhow.

Flat tire is on with oversized tires?

Guys, i would like to know how much is too much for my tire pressure and what is the recommended inflation pressure for 19x9.5 with 255/35/r19 and 19x10.5 295/30/r19? Please help.

Thank you,
Aljay

loiro370z 02-22-2017 05:58 PM

Go with the spare pressure recommended
read the sidewall of the spare. Its usually 45 to 60 psi.

Start with about 35 psi. See how it rides and handles. Don't go with the spare tire psi. The spare tire if a space saver is constructed differently then the regulate tire.

I gave my response based on the title

Flat tire is on with oversized tires?

That the question?
If no, them follow Rusty recomendation

Just when I thought I was doing good upgrading from my stock 18's and rubber to stock Nismo wheels and Conti 245's/285's, I gotta look through a thread like this. So now I "must" move the rear tires up front and get some 325's for the rear. :stirthepot:

Best part is you only have two wheels to buy instead of a full set

Just for the heck of it, I went to Tirerack to look up the price of my tires in 325/30-19, and they say that the Continental ExtremeContact DW isn't available for my car.

Umm... I just purchased these exact tires from Tirerack a few months ago in the stock sizes. So why all of a sudden are they not available for my 370?

And now this tire only goes up to a 305/30-19, which is on closeout. They used to have a 325.

FPenvy 03-01-2017 08:47 AM

Possibly out of stock but for everyone do not ever put in your vehicle info. First time I went with bigger sizes it took 4 days and 10 phone calls to tell them to shut the fuk up and send my tires i know what I'm doing.

Followed by my bank thinking I was hacked because tire rack messed up the invoices somehow.

ChaseZ 03-01-2017 08:58 AM

They probably still have them, and yeah as noted above me don't enter vehicle info there or any other tire site I've noticed too. It limits the results to what they think fits your car. Just went through all that. Probably just don't have stock of it st the moment or something like that.

TR lists the ExtremeContact Sport (not sure difference between it and the DW) in 325/30-19
Tire Rack - Search Results for 325 30 19

Onlinetires.com - Lowest Tire Prices on the Web. Period! has the DW in stock
https://www.onlinetires.com/products...+101y+bsw.html

Hell even ordering my rims at +25 offset I got an email from them after the order was placed stating these are too aggressive for the car and won't fit lol

Oh yeah, I never enter my vehicle info. I just go select the sizes I want and order them.

Widest/Best Tire step on Stock 19" Rays with 20/25 spacers

what is the widest I can go on stock 19" Rays without being out side the fender wells? I am running Z1 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers?

Sorry - Update - Stock camber and ride height

OptionZero 03-01-2017 12:13 PM

Depends on camber and ride height.

Got the 345's on the ground :)

Suspension hadn't settle in the pic, plus is sitting with a hair positive camber right now. Not going to bother adjusting it until the Nismo arches get here.

Not quite, but now that it's settled some I'm not sure I need to lower the 1/2" I'd more or less planned on. 1" gap is about what I was running last year on coilovers anyways, but as long as it doesn't take too much -camber I probably will anyways

Put a few miles in the car today. Streets were wet and sloppy but I didn't care, it was good to get it out of the garage and stretch its legs a little. Love the meaty meats!

These are pretty meaty:

Nitto 555 G2
305/35-19 Rear, the 35's are taller than the usual 30's folks typically install
255/40-19 Front, same as Nismo

Mounted on Avant Garde M550 19x11 R, 19x9.5 F Dolphin Gray. I think the M550s are discontinued, so these are probably four of the last ones left.

Just a little bit of fender roll needed on the front and 1.8 degrees of camber on the rear. Other than that it worked great!

Want. Will these work on a none lowered, stock camber? PM me priceing info please. Blew a rear out yesterday and might as well get a new setup.
