Which Nismos? S tune or the OEM ones that come on the Nismo 370Z?

Yes, those are the Nismo S-Tune and have sizes and offsets exactly like the sport wheels.

They listed them as 9.5/10.5.

From lip to lip, they should be about 10.5" & 11.5",
that's how wide i usually factor my tread width in for tires/to match the overall width of the wheels.

Kinda, but 275 18's would be cheaper. ;)

I'm running 245/45 & 275/40 18's now....good ride & handling.
You go to another level with the 19's

Hmm... Well, son of a motherless goat, those look fine to me. No cons?

I plan to go 19 at some point, but it might be a couple years.

That's specs for the OEM Nismo wheels:

19 x 9.5 +40 F
19 x 10.5 +23 R

S-Tube/Sport package specs:

19 x 9.0 +47 F
19 x 10.0 +30 R

VinceThe1 07-26-2015 08:02 PM

Might as well go with the 275/40R18s to replace your original 245/45R18 size. They are the perfect size since they are within 0.1% of your original overall diameter.

You can also move your rear 245/45R18s to the front to replace your 225/50R18s. That's what I would suggest in order to make a meatier setup that matches the Sport package.

Why did you think you had to widen your wheels in order to install not much wider tires on them? There's many, many reasons I wouldn't recommend widening wheels...mainly safety, but other than that it also changes your offset to a more positive one (higher number) and it ruins your wheels and wastes your money. :ugh2:

I'm not sure. I read incorrect specs I reckon. I went back and checked. I see 245 is good on an 8" rim and a 275 recommends 9.5" (close enough). So it's all good.

Yea a 275 is a little meaty for a 9" wheel but it's nothing crazy.

remmber-8"wide rim is 9"wide & 9" rim is 10" wide-(lip to lip) look at my tires;front's have 8.6"tread & rear's have 9.8" tread....still room for a bit wider.

I like your. I'll be doing this... unless the 19's get here before I need tires.

Then again tires are so different in width specs and aspect ratios from one manufacturer to another that it's always a guessing game. I have a friend with a BMW that had 295/30R19 Falkens in the rear and was rubbing. He later changed them with Pirelli 285/30R19s in hope of solving the rubbing issue (because they should be both slightly narrower and slightly smaller in overall diameter) only to find out they're actually a little bigger and rub even worse...so imagine how surprised we were when they were supposed to be actually smaller.

I have seen examples of this many, many times. Two tires from two different manufacturers with the same exact sizes on them, and they are sometimes not only slightly different, but VISIBLY different.

Thought they measured rims from inside of the lip to inside the lip? That's how my Forgelines are measured.

they do (bead to bead) is width measurement spec./but overall lip to lip spec,is about 1/2" on each side-making them an inch wider.
your 19x12's are actually 13" wide overall-that's why the tread on your 345's match the overall width @ 13"

I knew that too. Wanted to see his reasoning. Was being nice on how I asked the question. ;) The outside measurement don't always hold true with some rims. Rims with the lip for the clip-on wheel weight like he pictured, yes. But if the rim lip is smooth, they measure less. If you have rim locks. They measure even more.

My rims are as smooth as a Ken doll.

not sure if this has been posted already but I thinks it's a pretty big deal when it comes to tires, especially meaty tires.

the pss tire is now available in 305/35/19.
it's out in this size due to it coming on the new gt350

now u don't have to sacrifice the taller overal diameter with a 30 profile rear. it's the best option if u want to keep it drag/strait line traction and ur horizontal side to side traction.
until now the the 295/35/19 was the best option to go wider an keep ur hight but that size is way more expensive then the 285/35/19 and not as cool as a 305.

Food for thought for on the front. Hmmmmm.

RBfastback 10-26-2015 10:58 AM

sorry guys scratch that, just called tire rack to order them ant to talk to someone who knows a lot about it and it seems those tires are worthless..
they may be 305 from sidewall to sidewall but the tread width/contact pach is less then that of a 285.
they were designed for domestic retardizm... basically only for looks with slim contact patch and big puffy round sidewall for a more aggresssive muscle car look.
now they are taller if u want they would be a great drag/dig launching trackion tire but if that's what ur looking for there are MUCH better options then this.

I'm going with the re-11 but not in 305, the 285/35/19 is better for what I'm looking for. I don't want to loose the overall diameter (longer contact patch) going to the 305/30. I don't track an if I do it will be 1-2 times a year so a wider shorter contact patch of the 305 will actually loose traction from dig or strait line.
that's just me tho, if I could afford it I would get the ad08r but I'd go through them to fast and it's not to cost effective for me..

if all you want is straight line dig traction then just get a spare set or rear wheel and drag radials for when you do that.

that is my plan for next year. just a drag setup to play with.

yeah thanks man I'm probably gonna do that, then for the street I'll go with the in between 295/35. it's actualy a 302 wide tire too
