Yea but 305/30 looks good on the sport package Rays, which are a half inch narrower than the Nismo Rays.

I really want a 325...sucks that mine don't fit, and 315/30 19s are really hard to find.

Trust me, I know, I have only owned a few sets of each, lol

305s on 10" bulges a bit, but 305 on 10.5" is pretty flat, but still meaty enough to protect the wheel

VinceThe1 09-18-2014 09:15 PM

I know what you mean but even though my Goodyears won't seat, the half that does seat looks really good, also, I can find 325/30/19s much much cheaper as it seems than 305 or 315s...I found a set of brand new 325s for $368 shipped...can't beat that. If Even if I don't get an answer confirming fitment I think I'll still risk it and try.

Hotrodz 09-18-2014 09:24 PM

Heed DE's advise and save yourself from having to replace them with something else shortly after purchasing them. 305s and if you don't have spacers you need to get 15mm and the fit will be spot on....

I know it's the safe and sure way to go...but I really wanted to try 325...and I mean try, that's why I bought a used set to see if they'll fit and if they do, how they drive. It seems like I got my answer, because they don't fit...but I stongly beleive that it's because of the sidewall of the runflat tire...unfortunate for me I didn't even know I was buying runflats and that they could cause a problem with fitment.

Rusty 09-18-2014 10:18 PM

325 takes a 11.5" wide rim to look right. I have 325's on 12" right now. 325's on a 10.5" rim will be pinched. And You're trying runflats. Think they might take a different type of rim. And that's why they was having trouble trying to seat the bead.

Well there are different types of runflats, like the Michelin PAX System requires special wheels that have special lips and an inner ring. Goodyear EMT however are made to be mounted on a reqular wheel, replacing a regular tire with no modification. However, the width I'm trying to run is a bit wide for my wheel obviously, and that in combination with the low profile and super stiff sidewall seems to make my tire/wheel combo impossible to fit

Are you using longer wheel studs to fit the spacers? Link to the ones you are using would be great. I don't want any breaking bunch of junk. LOL New tires are going to be a must in a very short time.

I agree. I had 305 on sport rims also and didn't notice any bulge.

Here's a pic, from Christian370z's build thread, of 305 RE-11s on sport rims

I only know about a slight bulge with RS3s. I haven't really seen it in person.

My 305 RS3s on the Nismo wheels without a spacer on stock ride height looks amazing

Thing is, I can get a pair of RS3-S 325/30/19s for $368 shipped (atleast right now), 305/30/19s I won't be able to get for much under $500...plus I really want to try 325s...looks like noone's done it so I'll post pics when I do :)

305s look good on the 10" wide rays, that's why I want 315 or 325 on the 10.5" rays

I'm concerned about the height of the sidewalls of 325/30 being too high

Might look funny....

Well it's the same height as the sidewall on the original 285/35/19. A tire size calculator can confirm the diameter is 4mm less on the 325 vs the 285, that's a 0.6% difference, so that means that the sidewall on the 325/30/19 is actually 2mm (0.3%) lower than the one on the original 285/35/19...that's if tires are made with that kind of acuracy...which they are not since we all know that 2 "same size" tires from 2 different manufacturers can have quite a difference, however, the tire size calculator can give you a relative idea of tire size differences.

SXZ34 09-19-2014 01:42 PM

The RE11's, while not a runflat, do have a stiffer sidewall than most tires. My friend and I were both running 305/30's on the sport rays, he had ps2's i believe and i have re11's, his did bulge and mine had no bulge. The minimum side recommended for a 305 tire is a 10.5 inch wheel. So the .5 isnt too far of a stretch to make it fit. There is no way in the world I would attempt anything bigger on my wheel though. Even if someone could mount it... that being said the same goes for the 325 on a 10.5 inch wheel. Trying to get it on a wheel thats an inch narrower than the minimum recommended size... I wouldnt chance it OP, it could become a big safety issue just my .02 though. The 305 looks great on the nismo wheels IMO

VinceThe1 09-19-2014 01:45 PM

We are also not taking into account for a buged/stretched sidewall vs one that is straight (flush) with the wheel. Technically, the straighter (flusher) the sidewall is, the taller it would be, so a 325/30/19 should have an overall lower profile sidewall on that wheel than the original 285/35/19 that is almost flush.

FairladyZ10PG 09-19-2014 01:51 PM

I really don't understand your obsession with 325s but I am curious to see the result :)

In for pics!

I understand what you're saying, but I want to see the look the 325s will give the car. I went to Discount Tire again today and ordered a pair of rs3s 325/30/19. The manager looked it up by car in the system for both the sport package and nismo, and to my surprise, 325/30/19s were an optional size for both. He said he's positive they'll fit because if it's in their system then it would definately work because they use it everyday and blah blah blah...but nevertheless, if they end up not fitting I can just get my money back and buy 305s :)

You do realize that you are in the "370z MEATY TIRE THREAD" right? Haha

Will post pics sometime next week hopefully :)

Btw, my 285/35/19s from the rear are going in the front ;)

I'm sure those would fit fine on the 9.5s, plus the tires have camber wear from being in the reat and my Z has no front camber wear so it should work just fine..for a while

Rusty 09-19-2014 11:42 PM

If you want to see what 325's look like. Look at my Z. Next week will be 345's. :D

Post some pics :)

It's still gonna be different though, because I'm putting the 325s on the stock nismo 10.5" wheels, which would give the 325 quite a bulge I beleive

I really wanted to go with the P-Zero 355's. But then I would have needed to go with wider front rims and about 295-305/ 35 front tire. Just don't have the extra $$$ on hand right now for that. :shakes head:

why wouldnt you just drop to 345 where theres more options and less price wise?

the R888's in 345/30/19 are half the price.
PSS's are only 427/each in that size as well.

355 is an odd size and so far all i know of stock that come with it are the lambo aventador's so there's why they charge 988 a tire.

do your wallet a favor rusty and stick to a 345 lol

Rusty 09-23-2014 02:19 AM

You don't have to worry about it. LOL To do what I WOULD like to do. I need wider front rims from Forgeline. And that AIN'T cheap. That's why I stickin' with the 345's for now. NEED more $$$$$$ :D

Cords were showing all the way around on the inside of right tire. The left tire on the inside was through the one layer of rubber, almost to the cords. And it had balled up rubber on it from my last track day. LOL

Tire size question???????????

Here is my setup. Front 19X9 +15, stock sport tires on now. Rear 19X10.5 +20, 305/30. I love the the way the tire fits and looks on the rears and I am getting ready to purchace new fronts. I want a tire that will have the same fitment/look as the rears. putting coilovers on this week also, only going down one inch in front and 3/4 in rear with 10mm spacer in the rear. I dont want the tires in front to rub the fender either. The front wheels are pretty flush with the fenders. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
