Default Polishing the Sport Rays

Brought a friend to pick up his center caps for his wheels from the polisher today and the guy suggested having my wheels done. I'm thinking of doing it. I don’t drive the car in the winter, so salt will not be an issue (no clear coat). He did say although it will look insane he would hate to have the job of keeping them clean. That's not a problem for me. Looking for opinions or anyone that has had this done to their wheels.

I have done a lot of polishing ... wheels, motorcycle frames, auto parts, etc. I can tell you now with what I have done that it's much easier to either go the chrome route or you could polish the wheels and then get like a black chome type clear coat on them.

From washing the wheels I can say that though they are clear coated... quite a bit of sanding will still be needed, as you can still see some spots that aren't completely flat under the clearcoat.

I have thought of this myself, but yes... keeping them clean is more than I am willing to do anymore.

Thanks for you input. Chrome is not for me. As a matter of fact, I just came from my boy's house and after looking at his wheels I'm doing this in the fall!

well, just in case you aren't familiar with them... go to caswellplating.com ... LOTS of good products and polishing info for aluminum, SS, plastic, hard chrome plate, etc, etc.
