Wheel locks - problem

I would tell them you never received it when you obtained the new car. Make them take them off and give you a full new set

Yeh, that's one solution I offered them. Last week I got "don't worry, we'll track that key down". Naturally, the original dealership has no clue and cares less. No doubt that key is sitting in some salesman's junk drawer.

Anyway, today I offered to help them get the problem resolved by calling Nissan Consumer Affairs. That turned out to be a pretty effective way of getting the tire pressure sensor fixed on my wife's Murano, after three trips to the dealer with no joy. They weren't particularly enthusiastic about me taking that approach again, and I sense a renewed purpose on their part. We'll see.

So the dealer is being an *** about getting you a new set of wheel locks after they lost the key? those things are cheap enough that you think it wouldn't matter to them...

Not really being an ***, just taking a more casual approach to my problem than I would consider optimal. It wasn't them that actually lost the key, it was the original dealership (Amato Nissan in Milwaukee). In this case my dealer has an unrealistic hope that they can save dealer cost (what..maybe $35?) on a new set of locks by finding the lost one. Overall, they're nice people. I try to be nice back, but this has gone on long enough and today I ratcheted it up a notch. I know from experience that they don't like getting calls from Nissan Consumer Affairs.
