I ordered a set of spirit wheels back on febuary 4 th and paid in full. $5000. I was told my wheels would be in "way before may". I sent him a message just before may to ask where they were and he said on their way to him. I told him I booked hotels for shows and if I did not have the wheels I would be losing money being I won't be taking a car with stock wheels to a car show. He asked when my first show was and I told him may 6 th he assured me I would have my wheels in time. The date has came and gone and I have not heard from him since. I really hope he can resolve all the issues. If it does come down to having to get a bunch of names of people who have paid and got no product please count me in. Whatever it takes to get our wheels I'm willing to help

You are #10 on the list of people Rick owe money/wheel/kit to
Wonder how many more are out there b/c the title (Venaci Wheels) does somewhat relate to Rick but not like if it were VIP Status issue instead... just saying.

Yeah last time I started a thread and titled it VIP Status it got closed quick so I figured this would be a safer route. It's frustrating to see all these people with the same problems.

Are people on long waits ordering custom rims, i.e. custom widths and offsets that aren't typical for our cars? I'm just curious if there is a manufacturing reason for this. I know there's already a list of people waiting, what would be really interesting is to get more samples to do a data analysis on. For example, did people who receive their rim around the same time order similar type wheel configurations? Are the outliers ordering crazy setups?

Consider that Volks, etc. are 3 month to 4 month waits if you order. Keep in mind, though, that you're ordering a wheel of which they make a big set of - I don't think you custom offset a Volk rim very often, if you do you paid up the arse to do it. The most you can do is custom coloring, and that's easy, it's the forging that's hard. I think ordering a 'Works wheel' also...heh, works the same way. Prescribed widths and offsets, and have at it.

But to manufacture a one-off custom wheel offset the way Venaci offers, the cost is really, really high. I wouldn't be surprised if the manufacturer waited a while to see if anybody else made a similar request so they can reduce manufacturing costs a bit. Of course, information like this should be known up front, so the buyer knows exactly what they're getting into. It really isn't as simple as you think to set up the CNC machines correctly.

Also, shipping from Japan is insane, and by ocean freight is the most cost effective thing to do. I was dying for months waiting for my amuse stuff to arrive piecemeal. Furthermore, and I hate to bring up bad memories, but keep in mind Japan did just get walloped by an earthquake, NOTHING is shipping out of Japan in an expedited fashion...hell, Subaru won't even let me know where my car is.

Not to defend the constant ETA updates and what not, and one year plus is getting excessive, but I'm saying that you still have to consider the engineering costs and time required to build a true 'custom' wheel. It's not as easy as flipping a switch in the machine.

Anyway, hopefully everybody arrives at a...er...peaceful solution that works for all parties involved.

To those who are already resorting to name calling in this thread again - that helps nobody. Stop it.

You are right
But when you order wheels and are told you will have them in 2 months and I'm going on 7 months that has been the problem all along,

I sold my wheels b/c he said 2 months and I'll have new ones,if I was told 7 months in the beginning I wouldn't be that mad b/c I knew what I was walking into.

^^ Right, I never questioned the argument about faulty ETAs. But I think people buy into the whole 'yes, this can be done quickly and perfectly' idea too easily. If you order a custom wheel, you can't honestly expect it to be done faster than a wheel that's being rolled off a mature production line one after another.

Perhaps at the end of the day it's an issue of managing expectations on both sides. But that's just my thoughts on it, taken from a purely manufacturing engineering standpoint. Custom ALWAYS takes longer, no matter what.

Rick - quit moving already you're getting screwed over by your mobile shop (I kid, I kid)

For "some" of you here that are asking about your parts or to ship you parts.
1. You are asking about the free parts.
2.Some of you are asking me to ship part+wheels over $5000 first then pay later. You guys think about that.
3.When some of you that leave deposit from $500-1000 or even less then half.We front full payment for you first.
4.For the guys that got many FREE part or free shipping etc ! how much you got.But no one wants to speak up?

And for stogey420time! thank you for all your help i know you love me bro.Helping
Why don't you post that your buddy wants a new set of wheels. And why don't you post that i'm paying 50% of his wheels. When i got to tx we can hang out.

Whatever I can do to help the others out Rick, it's strictly business... nothing personal

My friend just came back from vaca... haven't talked to him in a while since he FINALLY received his wheels.

New set of wheels? Don't tell me it was damage during the shipping process... not this chit again!

I know why you're paying 50% but I'm not gonna talk about it here... let's talk about the list of members at hand.

BTW - he's looking for ya.

I understand it's a custom process and could take a while. That's not what I'm upset about though. It's just everytime I get an update I'm told their suppose to be in on such and such date. Then they don't come in. Then it's this date they'll be in and they dont come in and so on and so forth. If their not ready then why am
I being told that they'll be here. Just tell me their not ready. I mean my wheels weren't anything special, it's not like they were the first set of spirits ordered. Like I said my invoice doesn't even have an order number on it. How am I suppose to believe they were ordered when I inquired about them.
